What makes us who we are? Often, it is the people we carry with us.

Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents Mere Apne, an intimate spoken-word performance by acclaimed actor and author Divya Dutta, drawn from her books Me and Ma and The Stars in My Sky.

Through stories of her mother, family, friends, mentors and the people she has met along the way, Dutta reflects on love, loss, gratitude, belonging and the relationships that shape our lives.

Bringing her writing to the stage through live storytelling, Mere Apne is an evening of memories that are deeply personal, yet familiar to us all.

World Photography Day 📷✨

A photograph can make us pause, look closer, and see a familiar world differently. From Marc Riboud’s powerful documentary photographs and Kushal Ray’s intimate studies of everyday life to Mala Mukherjee’s visual journeys, Touching Light, and Contours of Climate Action: Our Planet, Our Lens, photography has continued to open up new ways of seeing and remembering.

Through My Kolkata in Kolkata (MKIK), KCC’s annual photography initiative, the city itself becomes the subject—bringing together diverse perspectives and stories captured through different lenses.

This World Photography Day, we celebrate the photographers and visual storytellers who remind us that a photograph can do more than capture a moment, it can hold a memory, tell a story, and make us look again. 📸

World Photography Day 📷✨

Photography has always been a way of looking closer, at people, places, histories, and the world around us. From Marc Riboud’s powerful documentary photographs to Kushal Ray’s intimate studies of everyday life, Mala Mukherjee’s visual journeys, Touching Light, and Contours of Climate Action: Our Planet, Our Lens, the camera continues to open new ways of seeing and remembering.

On World Photography Day, we celebrate the many photographers and visual storytellers who remind us that a photograph can do more than capture a moment, it can hold a memory, tell a story, and make us look again.
