Archives : A look back at some of the moments when accessibility became part of the experience at KCC.

At KCC, we believe being part of an artistic experience should never depend on how you hear, see, move or communicate. That is why accessibility is something we continue to build into our programmes and spaces through the year, finding different ways to make art and culture more welcoming and accessible to all.

From Ramjhol 4.0: Desert Meets Delta to Gathering Threads, sign language interpretation has been woven into programmes across the year, alongside other efforts to make art, culture and conversations more accessible.

These moments are part of an ongoing journey towards creating spaces where more people can participate, experience and connect.

On International Sign Language Day, we celebrate every language, every expression and every way of connecting through art. 🤍

From intimate stories and absurd humour to questions of identity, relationships and the world around us, Theatre at AMI Arts Festival 2025 brought together five distinct voices and theatrical worlds.

Featuring Jyoti Dogra’s Maas, Makarand Deshpande’s Piyakkad, Lafzon Ki Gathri with Ratna Pathak Shah, Seema Bhargava Pahwa, Rakesh Chaturvedi, Manukriti Pahwa and Anubha Fatehpuriya, Kumud Mishra and Sumeet Vyas in Saanp Seedhi, and Gopal Datt’s Aur Karo Theatre.

Five performances, countless stories, and an unforgettable month of theatre.

KCC presents চেনা অচেনা উত্তম | Chena Achena Uttam, an evening of melody and remembrance featuring members of the WBMP Artists’ Forum, the final performance of গুরু | GURU, a centenary exhibition on Uttam Kumar.

Through songs associated with the Mahanayk’s unforgettable screen romances, moments of joy and longing, the evening returns to a musical world that continues to live in the memory of Bengali audiences.

The cast of the dramatic reading also shared their thoughts on গুরু | GURU: A Centenary Exhibition, reflecting on Uttam Kumar’s legacy and enduring influence.

Basabdatta Chattopadhyay, Arna Mukhopadhyay, Anujoy Chattopadhyay, Arpan Garai and Dipanwita Sarkar spoke about the Mahanayak and the many facets of his cinematic legacy.
