Why is the Commission requiring to issue statements--" urging candidates to avoid middlemen and rely solely on merits" ?

The newly formed Manipur Staff Selection Commission has reiterated its commitment to a corruption-free, merit-based recruitment system for Group C and Group D posts. Announcing the introduction of Computer-Based Testing for the first time in the state, MSSC Chairman T Ranjit Singh said the move will curb manipulation and ensure transparency. The Commission has also issued its first recruitment notification for regular MTS posts, urging candidates to avoid middlemen and rely solely on merit.

Will Manipur University be a problem creator or MPSC ?

Regarding the notification dated 19th December 2025 for the appointment of Assistant Professor notified by Manipur Public Service Commission ( MPSC), I would like to express some views concerning the concerned/ allied/ relevant subjects. The matter of concerned/ allied/ relevant subjects should be decided by the university concerned.

Here, the MPSC refers to Manipur University in connection with the concerned/ allied/ relevant subjects. However, the Manipur University keeps on changing its concerned/ allied/ relevant subject from time to time by the equivalent committee.

Are these reasonable questions? Is there any vested interest in this regard? No authority can decide the equivalency except the University concerned.

The UPSC recruitment process is outdated and ineffective, and its recruitment/ training framework lack people-oriented approach, focusing more on self-interest than on public service or national interest.

As lakhs of candidates prepare for UPSC Civil Services exam, PM Modi's Advisor Sanjeev Sanyal has stirred a debate by stating that pursuing Union Public Service Commission exams for job stability is a complete 'waste of time'. He stated that since technology is rapidly evolving and artificial intelligence (AI) is 'vastly superior', pursing such exams, courses and curriculum is a waste of time. He also added that educators should promote the culture of apprenticeships rather than sticking to old traditions.
