✨ Seven years. Countless stories. This is one we’ll never forget.
When Natalie* left her village in Uganda for what she believed was a nanny job in India, she carried nothing but hope. She dreamed of lifting her family out of poverty.
Instead, she was trafficked.
Her passport was taken. She was sexually exploited under the pretense of repaying a fabricated “debt.” When her traffickers were done with her, she was abandoned on the streets of Delhi—without documents, without family, and without hope.
Three years ago, our paths crossed.
Despite her unimaginable pain, Natalie never stopped thinking about others. She became one of Red Rope’s greatest allies, helping us identify and support African women trapped in exploitation. Time and again, she chose to help others return home, even while believing she never would.
Then came a miracle.
After years of silence, she reconnected with her sisters. For the first time, home felt possible again.
Her repatriation journey began, but complicated legal challenges surrounding her stolen passport caused long delays. During that wait, she lost several loved ones back home. Yet she still told us:
“If I cannot go home, I will help others go home.”
Today, Natalie’s story is entering a new chapter.
Just days ago, she came into Red Rope’s safe home with nowhere else to go. She is expecting her baby at any moment.
This little one will be the first child born under Red Rope’s direct care—a reminder that even after profound darkness, life can begin again.
Today, we’re asking our community to help us welcome this baby with dignity and love.
