The Board of Directors, along with the Chairman, CEO, and Accountant of the FPC came together for a focused discussion on two critical priorities:

โœ… ๐‘๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐๐š๐๐๐ฒ (๐‹๐ž๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ญ) ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ: The meeting reviewed cultivation practices, labor requirements, and ensuring the FPC's land is being utilized to its full productive potential.

โœ… ๐๐ž๐ฐ ๐“๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ: Exploring the right model for Mizoram's local terrain, along with budget planning and potential financing or subsidy options available to the FPC, the team discussed all the possibilities in procuring geo-appropriate tractors.

These conversations might seem routine, but they represent exactly the kind of grassroots governance which makes farmer collectives truly sustainable.

When farmers sit at the table and make decisions about their land and resources together, the real transformation happens.

Yesterday, on ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐จ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ, APRINS officially launched the Vasudha Initiative, a commitment to nurturing nature, preserving the indigenous agricultural heritage of Northeast India, and building a future where our farmers and our forests thrive together.

We were honoured to have Ms. Soumika Karmakar from lead the launch, and our MD Chandan Borthakur and Secretary Mrs. Urmi Mala Mahanta reiterate what our farmers have known for generations: that biodiversity isn't just an environmental issue, it's the foundation of food security, rural livelihoods, and community resilience.

The event also featured a beautiful showcase of indigenous farm products from remote corners of the Northeast, flavours, seeds, and stories that deserve to be known, celebrated, and protected. ๐ŸŒพ

While the world talks about biodiversity, some fishery farmers in Northeast India are living it, with every cast of the net and every choice they make for their pond.

Biodiversity loss is not only a story of disappearing tigers and shrinking rainforests. It is happening in our farmlands. In the soil. In every field where nature's own intelligence has been replaced by a chemical shortcut.

This is why NATURAL FARMING is not simply a better way to grow food. It is an act of conservation.

Northeast India, one of the world's most extraordinary biodiversity hotspots, is home to farmers who have always known this. Farmers who rely on local resources. Who use biological pest control, crop diversity, and livestock integration. Who restore soil health not with products bought from outside, but with the living systems already present in their land. Farmers who produce sustainable, low-cost food, while protecting the biodiversity that makes that food possible in the first place.

At APRINS, this is the farming we believe in. It is the farming we have built our Farmer Producer Companies around. It is the farming that 369 mobilised farmers across 7 states are practising and proving.

Every cup of Assam tea tells a story that starts long before the kettle.

It starts with a farmer, a harvest season, and a cooperative that helps turn raw leaves into a fair price.

Northeast India holds some of the world's finest tea and some of the hardest-working farming communities. Supporting those communities through better institutions, market linkages, and collective strength is what organisations like APRINS exist to do.
