Before robotics gets complicated, before the terms get technical, it starts with a student noticing something.
The robot is what you see. What actually matters happened before that. Spotting a real problem. Breaking it down. Testing an idea. Watching it fail. Figuring out why, and trying again. That is critical thinking and problem solving, learned by doing.
One example from this season is a team in the elementary category, one of WRO India's youngest brackets. They built a robot to ease the physical strain that mouth and foot painting artists carry on large scale work. The build did not go smoothly, and that is the point. Getting something to work through failed attempts is exactly how problem solving and critical thinking get built.
This is what WRO India produces when students are given a real problem and the room to solve it.
