Living for Environment

Living for Environment An organisation set up to protect, conserve and preserve the environment: To act and create awareness before it’s too late. the rag pickers rights as humans.

An organisation started by like-minded youth who want to protect, conserve and preserve the environment: To act and create awareness before it’s too late. Our first initiative is to address the perils of waste in Nagaland. Not only the waste accumulated but also its disposal. We believe that waste, if utilized, can be an asset. What we are trying to achieve is not only assisting in cleaning the wa

ste but segregation of the waste. We want to be the platform that all groups or communities can take recourse to, for assistance in managing and disposing off their waste properly. We also want to address the informal sector i.e. We are open to collaboration of all kinds, with individual, group, community, or organisation.

Yesterday was all about learning from the front lines at the Plastic Waste Management Unit (PWMU) of the The Midway Journey , analysing every step of how waste is categorized, weighted, and managed.

Seeing the daily realities of the frontline workers taught us a lesson that no classroom or textbook could ever do.

Today, the team brought those learning into a team brainstorming session to strategise and turn into real world impact.

Hear from some of the legends who cleared the dumpsite on 30th May for the THC!

Plot Twist: We cleaned the ground, and the community saw a fresh canvas. 🎨🗑️ 😅The waste is already making a comeback.

Hard Truth: Without community cooperation, cleanup drives and waste interventions will fail. It’s a never-ending loop, but we can’t stop now.

We have fought and will continue the fight—join us in this movement. 💪

Day 2of the training with The Midway Journey
11th June, 2026

The second day was dedicated to understanding systems and practices that sustain waste management at the community level.

It was focused on record-keeping protocols and their role in ensuring transparency and accountability. With the Midway Journey team, we participated in waste collection across household, commercial, and resort areas, observing route planning, register maintenance, and consolidation processes.

Ideas are powerful, but action changes the world.

Yesterday, we did the World Environment Day differently! 🌍. Instead of just talking about sustainability, the team rolled up the sleeves for real collective action. Our focus? One simple, transformative habit: segregation at source.
Residents brought their household waste to Diwas Hub, Forest colony, Dimapur and was sorted by the team.
Small steps at home = a massive impact for the colony.
We also wrapped up the day with a Slogan competition! Huge congratulations to our winner.

Small steps, Big impact. Today’s Himalayan Cleanup and Forest colony was all about giving back to the environment and reclaiming LAND from WASTE that gives us so much. Proud to do our part in keeping our environment and community and the fragile Himalayan ecosystem pristined.

Thank you to .neissr and other individuals volunteers who showed up and proved that together, we can protect the beauty of our Environment.
