Chiraiya series brings forward uncomfortable but very real conversations that often get shut down inside homes. It reflects the mindset many women grow up hearing, that after marriage a husband has complete rights over you, that consent doesn’t need to be spoken, and that raising your voice is “shameless.” Women are often told to stay quiet, think about family honour, and accept everything because “it happens with everyone.”
But normalising control and silence doesn’t make it right. Marriage does not cancel consent. Respect does not disappear after commitment.
If this feels familiar, it deserves to be questioned, not accepted.
