Siruthuli A Not-For-Profit Organisation founded in the year 2003 to address the water & environmental problems and for the protection of natural resources.

“Siruthuli”, meaning ‘a tiny drop’ was formed as a Trust by a few conscientious corporate business houses of Coimbatore – Bannari Amman Group of Companies, Pricol Ltd., LMW Group of Companies, ELGI Group of Companies and Sri Sankara Eye Society in the month of June 2003. These Corporates united to solve the common water and environmental problems in this region. Siruthuli is today a people’s movement as a result of the enthusiastic participation of people from all walks of life. Meeting with the Additional Chief Secretary | Singanallur Lake Rejuvenation

Every lake we restore is a step towards a healthier, more resilient region.

On 30 September 2026, Ms. Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli; D. Srinivasan, Managing Director, Sree Annapoorna Sree Gowrishankar Hotels; and C. Chinnasamy, Chief Operating Officer, Siruthuli, met Thiru. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, I.A.S., Additional Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, to discuss the rejuvenation of Singanallur Lake and sustainable solid waste management in urban waterbodies.

The discussion focused on tackling sludge accumulation, improving water percolation, managing inflows, and promoting decentralised wastewater treatment and reuse through natural remediation techniques.

The dialogue also explored long-term solutions to improve water quality and strengthen the restoration and management of urban waterbodies across Coimbatore.

Together, we can turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s thriving water ecosystems.

After nearly 25 years, the monsoon has brought a sight the community has long awaited, water flowing through the entire stretch of Peria Pallam Stream and filling 50% of Kurumban Kuttai. A sight of water, a renewed sense of hope.

With the support of ZF Wind Power, the District Administration and Appanaickenpatti Village Panchayat, Siruthuli is restoring these vital water resources in phases.

Phase 1: 3 km of Peria Pallam Stream restored, with desilting, bund strengthening and three rainwater harvesting structures.

Phase 2: Restoration of the 19-acre Kurumban Kuttai, with over 70% of the work completed.

Every drop retained brings us closer to replenished groundwater, revived agriculture and a more water-secure community.

When water returns to the land, hope returns to the people.

Growing a Greener Annur | Phase 2 Inauguration

Some journeys begin with a dream. Ours was inspired by a visionary who believed that a greener tomorrow begins with what we plant today.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s vision and encouragement played a meaningful role in inspiring Siruthuli’s green journey. To honour his 95th birth anniversary on 15 October 2026, we returned to that very spirit of hope and action, planting the seeds of a greener future in Annur.

In collaboration with J S Auto Cast Foundry India Pvt. Ltd., Siruthuli inaugurated Phase 2 of Periyamman Kovil Vanam on HR&CE land in Annur, Coimbatore, with the planting of 10,000 saplings. Building on the 10,000 saplings planted in Phase 1, this brings the total to 20,000 saplings, a growing legacy of collective commitment to nature.

The occasion was graced by Mr. P. Ramesh, Joint Commissioner, HR&CE Department; Mr. Sumeet Banga, Chairman & CEO, J S Auto Cast Foundry India Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Leena Deshpande, Head – CSR, Bharat Forge Ltd.; and Ms. Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli, along with Siruthuli’s apex body members, staff and employees of J S Auto Cast Foundry India Pvt. Ltd.

Students from Nava Bharath International School, Swami Vivekananda Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and SNS College of Technology’s Department of Management Studies joined the plantation, carrying forward the spirit of environmental responsibility to the next generation.

For us, this was more than a plantation drive. It was a tribute to the man who inspired our green journey and a reaffirmation of our promise to keep that journey growing, one sapling at a time.

On 8 October 2026, 87 enthusiastic students from Dr. Genguswamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School joined hands with Siruthuli at Othakalmandapam for a meaningful volunteer engagement focused on environmental conservation.

Their energy, enthusiasm and willingness to contribute remind us that environmental responsibility begins with awareness and grows through action.

On 05.10.2026, Mr. Sugumar, MLA, Sulur Constituency, visited Siruthuli’s Kurumban Kuttai Rejuvenation Project at Appanaickenpatti.

The project is being supported by ZF Wind Power as part of its CSR initiative. He appreciated the restoration work initiated by Siruthuli and assured his continued support towards the successful ex*****on of the project.

Reviving Kurumbankuttai | Appanaickenpatti

On 28.09.2026, Siruthuli initiated the revival of Kurumbankuttai, located at Pudhur Village, Sulur Block, Coimbatore.

Spread across 21 acres, the waterbody is currently affected by dense bushes and waste dumping. With the groundwater level falling below 1,200 feet, restoring this waterbody is vital for the region.

The proposed restoration includes 2.1 km of feeder channel desilting and desilting the entire pond, creating a storage capacity of 15,293 cubic metres—enabling the potential harvesting of approximately 15 crore litres of water.

A step towards water security, groundwater recharge and a more resilient future for the community.

Under eClerx Group’s CSR initiative, Siruthuli has undertaken an Environment project at the Madukkarai Forest Land in Coimbatore. As part of the project, 6,500 saplings will be planted across the site, soil conservation, and the restoration of a greener landscape.

On 26th September 2026, over 100 eClerx Coimbatore (AGR) employees visited the site and contributed to the initiative by planting 600 saplings as part of the afforestation drive. The activity was successfully completed with enthusiastic participation and strong team engagement.

A river remembers. It carries the story of a land, its people and generations that came before us.

As we reflect on World River Day, we share a special message from Ms Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli, broadcast on Akashvani (All India Radio).

In her address, she speaks about the wisdom of our ancestors, the traditional check dams built centuries ago, and the responsibility we carry today to protect our rivers and conserve every precious drop of water.

She also reflects on Siruthuli’s journey: restoring rivers and water ecosystems, promoting rainwater harvesting and afforestation, and inspiring communities to care for the environment.

Our rivers have sustained us for generations.
The question is: what will we leave behind for the generations to come?
