בישראל מאות אלפי ילדים ובני נוער הולכים מדי יום לבית הספר רעבים, מבלי שאכלו ארוחת בוקר. תחושת הרעב מקשה עליהם להתרכז בלימודים ורבים מהם נפלטים ממערכת החינוך. ילד שמגיע מידי יום רעב לבית הספר אינו פנוי ללמידה. ארגון נבט דואג שכל התלמידים יקבלו הזדמנות שווה להצלחה.
מחקרים רבים שנעשו בעולם מוכיחים את הקשר שבין ארוחת בוקר מזינה ושיפור יכולות הריכוז, הזיכרון והלימוד של התלמידים, הפחתת שיעור ההפרעות ו
ההיעדרויות וכן שיפור ההישגים הלימודיים.
ארגון נבט פועל מזה 20 שנה על מנת להעניק פתרון בסיסי, אך השפעתו על עתיד הדור הצעיר רבה . בעזרת סנדוויץ' בריא ומזין בשילוב ירקות ופירות טריים לארוחת הבוקר אנו מצליחים לייצר שינוי גדול. חשוב לציין שאנו דוגלים בחלוקה דיסקרטית מלאה תוך שמירה על כבודם של הילדים.
אנו פועלים בכל רחבי הארץ מידי יום, ולאורך כל שנת הלימודים, ומספקים ארוחות מזינות ל-23,000 תלמידים ב-470 בתי ספר שונים, ובסה"כ כ 4 מיליון סנדווצ'ים בשנה לכל המגזרים.
הארגון החלאת דרכו כתוכנית שיזם ארגון "לקט ישראל" בשנת 2006 וזאת במטרה לסייע לתלמידים רעבים על ידי אספקת מצרכים להכנת כריכים טריים ומזינים בבתי הספר. לאחר עשור של פעילות כתוכנית בתוך לקט ישראל, ובמטרה לקדם את המטרה החינוכית החשובה, הוחלט על הרחבת התכנית ועל הקמת נבט כחברה לתועלת הציבור.
בתי ספר רבים מבקשים להצטרף לתוכנית בכל שנה. נבט שואפת להגיע לכלל ילדי ישראל הזקוקים לכך וזאת באמצעות הקמת מפעל הזנה ארצי בחסות המדינה. מפעל זה יאפשר שוויון הזדמנויות ויביא לצמצום פערים כלכליים וחברתיים. Hundreds of thousands of children and youth in Israel go to school hungry, without eating breakfast and many times not even eating dinner the night before. The pangs of hunger make it difficult for them to concentrate in school and many of them drop out of the education system. Countless studies conducted around the world prove that a nutritious breakfast improves students concentration, memory and learning abilities, reduces disobedience and absences, and improves academic achievements. Nevet was established to provide a natural and simple solution that has great impact on the future of the young generation.Our actions take care of the most basic thing – the feeling of not feeling hungry, without which it is impossible to begin discussing education. We provide over 4 million sandwiches a year, to 23,000 students a day in 470 .schools across the country, cutting across sectors and ages
Providing sandwiches to students in need makes the school a meaningful place, a place that sees all the needs of the students and also makes it easier for them to deal with hunger. Students who come to school every day without breakfast are not focused and available for learning. Nevet makes sure that all students get an equal opportunity for success and a better future. Nevet started out as a program initiated by Leket Israel in 2006 to assist hungry children by supplying the schools with provisions for preparing tasty, nutritious sandwiches. Following a decade of activity as a program within Leket Israel, and in order to promote this important educational goal, it was decided to expand the program and establish Nevet as a public benefit organization. Nevet aims to reach all needy children in Israel by establishing a national nutrition enterprise sponsored by the state. This enterprise will promote equal opportunities and help reduce social and financial gaps.
