The story of Henry Garfinkel, a new immigrant from Toronto who moved to Israel after experiencing a rise in antisemitism and anti-Israel hostility in Canada following October 7.
Henry says that vandalism against synagogues and frequent anti-Israel protests made daily life increasingly uncomfortable. After participating in Masa Israel Journey, he spent eight months in Israel and decided to make aliyah.
Despite experiencing missile sirens and the war with Iran shortly after arriving, he says he felt that Israel was his true home and was never discouraged from staying. Today he lives in a Jewish Agency absorption center in Ra’anana, studies Hebrew in ulpan, and hopes to serve in the IDF and build a future in Israel using his political science degree.
