Last week our Beavers and Cubs camped out in Glenamaddy. Over the weekend they completed many activities. They completed a nature walk in the bog, where they learned about the local flora and fauna. They practiced wrapping bandages on the foot, and ran through some first aid scenarios.
It was lots of fun and great experience for the Tír na nÓg Camp in July! 🏕️

Congratulations to Andrew on completing his Wood Badge training and receiving his Wood Beads.
In 1919 Baden Powell awarded wooden beads to volunteers on completion of their scouting training and that tradition continues today.
Since joining our group Andrew has committed to training and upskilling so that he may provide the best opportunities to our youth members.
We are very fortunate to have him in our group.
Bravo. 👏

Recently, our Scouts visited the newly opened Sensory Garden in Tuam Park. It is a lovely amenity to have for the community and a very well done to the Women’s Shed and all involved!

A special thanks to westmidlandscu West-Midlands Credit Union for sponsoring fleeces for our group. It is very much appreciated ❤️

🚨 BIG NEWS for Tuam Scouts! 🚨

Over the May bank holiday weekend, we took part in the County Scout Camp—and what a weekend it turned out to be! 🙌

We had two patrols competing in the Plate competition: Snoopy Patrol and Phineas & Ferb Patrol 🏕️

We were absolutely over the moon when Phineas & Ferb Patrol were named Best Patrol by their Sub Camp Chief 👏 And as if that wasn’t enough, they also went on to take 3rd place overall 🥉

But the surprises didn’t stop there…
Our Snoopy Patrol absolutely smashed it and took home 1st place in the Plate category 🏆🔥

To say we are proud is an understatement. The effort, teamwork, and spirit shown by all our scouts was incredible from start to finish 💪

A huge thank you to for running such a fantastic event 👏

Last Sunday, our Beavers completed the Galway County Beaver Scout Walk in Kylebrack Woods. While the weather wasn't in our favour, we got through it and we all enjoyed the trekking!
Bring on the next adventure 😄

A very well done to our Scouts and Scouters, who completed the Fia Challenge over the weekend. They had to complete a 12km hike in the Burren, where they reached the summits of Abbey Hill, Oughtmama and Turlough Hill, with a lightweight camp at Burren OEC.

Well done to the members of 6th Mayo Cuslough who joined us in completing the challenge!

Thanks to the organisers in galway_scout_county Galway Scout County for organising this great event!
