This weekend sees the prestigious Fiddler of Dooney competition take place in Sligo🎻🎻. To see the best fiddlers in Ireland, you can go to the junior competition (up to age 16) on Sat at 11am in Sligo Methodist Church, W**e Street or the senior competition on Sun 2pm in the same venue.
There's also a fantastic recital (lots of other instruments as well as fiddles!)🎻🪉🎶 at 4:30pm Saturday in the Factory Performance Space (F91 H327). All events are FREE but seating is limited.

Congratulations to our branch member Lucy Caroll, who was selected to represent Sligo as part of the Music Generation Ireland orchestra, and to our branch chairperson Michael Rooney who was honoured to be asked to arrange the strings and conduct the Music Generation musicians for U2’s performance of “One” at Mount Temple yesterday.

🎶 Classes continue this week at Craobh Loch Gile! 🎶

We’re delighted to welcome children and adults back to our traditional music classes at Summerhill College, Sligo, with classes running on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

There’s something for everyone — from complete beginners to more advanced players — across fiddle, tin whistle, flute, concertina, accordion, harp, guitar and bodhrán.
