🎶🇹🇿 FUNDRAISING CONCERT – TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE 🇹🇿🎶
We would love the support of our Craobh Loch Gile members, families and friends for a very special fundraising concert in aid of St Patrick’s Pre & Primary School, Kisiju, Tanzania.
📅 Saturday, 5 September 2026
🕢 7.30 p.m.
📍 St Patrick’s Church, Calry, Sligo
The concert will feature June McCormack, Michael Rooney, Sligo Orpheus Choir, Grúpa Cheoil and guests.
This fundraiser has a very special connection to our branch. Craobh Loch Gile members Ella, John Joe Norton, along with former Grúpa Cheoil member Róisín, will travel to Tanzania this October to volunteer at the school, together with Colette O’Hagan and Carol McCormack.
Funds raised will support an ambitious project designed to create a sustainable, long-term income for the school, helping to fund teachers’ salaries, educational resources, maintenance and future development.

🎸🎶 NEW FOR SEPTEMBER – BODHRÁN & TRAD GUITAR! 🎶
We’re delighted to welcome Darren Roche of MOXIE to the Craobh Loch Gile teaching team this September!
For the first time, we’ll be offering Bodhrán and Traditional Guitar classes on Tuesday evenings at Summerhill College. 🥁🎸
Originally from Co. Limerick, Darren is a highly accomplished musician, teacher and multi-instrumentalist with a passion for traditional Irish music. As a member of MOXIE, he brings a wealth of performing experience alongside an encouraging, practical and enjoyable approach to teaching.
Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to develop your existing skills, Darren looks forward to welcoming both children and adults.

🎻 JUNIOR CEOL NA NÓG ORCHESTRA – NEW MEMBERS WELCOME! 🎶

We are delighted to be starting our Junior Ceol na nÓg Orchestra for 2026/27, working with Lorraine Sweeney & Mossie Martin.

Open to young musicians aged 10–16 who play a melody instrument and are comfortable playing a jig and some basic reels. It is especially suited to musicians who are new to playing in an orchestra and would like to develop their repertoire, confidence and ensemble skills.

11 & 18 October
7 November

📍 Ballintogher Enterprise Centre, Co. Sligo

Depending on the progress and readiness of the group, the Junior Orchestra may perform at our concert on Saturday 7 November. Otherwise, the group will continue rehearsing towards our Gala Concert on Saturday 10 April 2027 alongside the Senior Orchestra.

We’d love to welcome a new group of young musicians to Ceol na nÓg this year!

Great event coming up this Sunday evening with SEOID's debut album launch in the Hawk's Well Theatre. Featuring Loch Gile member and tutor, Kenny Donagher, SEOID play a lively style of trad that draws on Sligo and Roscommon musical traditions.
They'll be joined by special guests including the All-Ireland medal winning 15-18 Loch Gile céilí band.
