This year has been an exceptional one for Irish motorcycle racing, After a few years without racing, seeing it return has been fantastic, with plenty of tar and muck racing along the way!

On a personal level, this season has also marked the beginning of my scrutineering apprenticeship which I thoroughly enjoyed, giving me the opportunity to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes to help keep our sport running safely,

As the season draws to a close, It's brilliant reading all the different rider posts about how their season went, but really I kinda find myself wondering what plans and measures are being put in place to secure the future of Irish road racing for 2027

With relatively little information coming from our governing body, Motorcycling Ireland about the plans for next season, I have to admit that I find it a little concerning,

Getting racing back on the calendar was a huge achievement, but keeping it there is the real challenge, I'm sure a huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes, and I appreciate that not everything can be shared immediately,

However, some communication about the direction being taken would go a long way towards reassuring those of us who care deeply about the future of our sport,

So, as we look towards 2027, what is the plan?

Little update for all of you
Our renovation project is gradually moving forward, and the support we've received from the motorcycle community and local businesses is a massive help for us turn our plans into reality,

Every donation, every offer of help, and every bit of support brings us one step closer to creating a refreshed Shed 4 Bikers for everyone to enjoy for many years to come

We're delighted that a team of professional builders from South Dublin Bikers have offered to give up their valuable time, free of charge, to help us carry out the renovation work,

This is what the biking community is all about people coming together, sharing their skills, and supporting something that matters, We are incredibly grateful and blown away by the support we are receiving

We're delighted to have received some fantastic support already, including

Flooring supplied and fitted free of charge
Paint for the walls and tools to paint donated
Custom Wall printing free of charge
Custom Shed 4 Bikers Signage
Plasterboard with a free delivery

These donations represent a massive help towards reducing the overall cost of the renovation, and we cannot thank those involved enough, people going above and beyond, believing in what Shed 4 Bikers is all about and getting behind the renovation project

We're also waiting on a quotation for the building materials required to complete the renovation, along with the quotation for recovering the seats.

Once those figures come in, we'll have a much clearer picture of the costs involved and the funding still needed to bring the project across the finish line,

To everyone who has donated, offered their professional skills, supplied materials, contributed financially, or shared our fundraising campaign
We Thank each and everyone of you,

Your support is making a real difference, and we're excited to see what we can achieve together,

Every contribution brings us closer to the finish line

What a day,
Nice relaxed spin up to Longford lead by Olivier Collin, met up with Dave Kirwan in Ballinalack, then onto Precision Customs for their 8year in business anniversary and Jigsaw fundraiser,

Really enjoyed the day with them and chatting with everyone that attended the banter and craic was top notch, it was interesting and very rewarding to chat with different customers with their bikes at different stages of custom and restoration, looking and seeing the excitement in their voice while proudly chatting about the journey, ideas and creation of something unique to each of them

The warm welcome didn't end there, with a massive array of soup and sambos tea and coffee, it was great to see the whole precision customs family there, all doing their own little tasks, a family ran business, Top work folks and here's to the next 10 years of service 👏

I even picked up a hoodie with my name on it from there new shop,

The Irish weather can change in a heartbeat, and for motorcyclists, rain brings extra challenges. Reduced grip, poor visibility and longer stopping distances mean we need to adjust our riding to suit the conditions,

1. SLOW IT DOWN
Reduce your speed and give yourself more time to react. What works in dry conditions may not be safe in the wet.

2. INCREASE YOUR FOLLOWING DISTANCE
Leave extra space between you and the vehicle ahead. Wet roads can increase stopping distances.

3. BE SMOOTH WITH YOUR CONTROLS
Avoid sudden braking, harsh acceleration and abrupt steering. Smooth inputs help maintain stability and grip.

4. WATCH OUT FOR SLIPPERY SURFACES
Pay extra attention to road markings, manhole covers, drain covers, metal surfaces, diesel spills, mud and fallen leaves.

5. IMPROVE YOUR VISIBILITY
Make sure your lights are working, your visor is clean and your clothing helps other road users see you. Keep your visor clear of mist and rain where possible.

6. GIVE YOURSELF MORE ROOM IN CORNERS
Reduce your speed before entering a bend, look well ahead and avoid sudden changes in direction or braking while leaned over.

7. STAY WARM AND DRY
Wet, cold hands and reduced concentration can affect your reactions. Proper waterproof gear helps you stay comfortable and focused,

8. KNOW WHEN TO CALL IT A DAY
If conditions become too dangerous, find a safe place to stop and wait it out. There's no shame in changing your plans.

Holly has officially signed with Team Rieju GB / QMR for the 2027 season, stepping up to a powerhouse Rieju 300cc machine! 🇪🇦☘️

With this world-class infrastructure and a heavy-hitting weapon of a bike underneath her, Holly is armed and ready to take on the biggest grids in extreme enduro.
The 2027 Global Campaign:
