🌟 Southern Bell Bellydancer 🌟

Antonia O’Neill’s imaginative entry for the EVE Trash into Triumph competition showcases creativity, colour, and resourcefulness in a truly unique way. Using styrofoam, fabric, old crochet projects, and hidden treasures rescued from the storage area, Antonia has crafted a striking decorative hat and beautifully embellished belt.

A long-time belly dancing enthusiast, Antonia has brought a personal touch to the piece by combining her artistic creativity with a hobby she has practiced and enjoyed for many years. Southern Bell Bellydancer reflects not only sustainability and creative reuse, but also passion, personality, and self-expression.

This vibrant creation is a wonderful example of how forgotten materials can be transformed into something dazzling and full of life.

✨ Black Magic Woman ✨

Patricia Fox’s striking entry for the EVE 'Trash into Triumph' competition transforms discarded materials into a powerful work of art. Created using cardboard, paper, wool, and broken jewellery, the piece beautifully demonstrates how forgotten objects can be reborn with creativity and imagination.

Rich in texture, colour, and character, Black Magic Woman celebrates sustainability while capturing strength, mystery, and elegance. Patricia’s innovative use of recycled materials reminds us that beauty can be found in the unexpected — and that art has the power to turn trash into triumph.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of heading down to support The FTD Brothers Foundation charity fundraiser as they began their Kildare marathon, just around the corner from our centre.

It was brilliant to join the crowds cheering them on and showing support for such an important cause. The atmosphere was full of encouragement, emotions, community spirit, and positivity from everyone involved.

The challenge the brothers have taken on is nothing short of incredible — 33 marathons in 33 days across Ireland to raise awareness for Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).

Best of luck to them as they prepare to finish their amazing journey in Merrion Square today. What an achievement for a truly worthy cause! 👏💙

Updates from our sunny garden! ☀️🌻🍅

Our tomatoes have now been planted in the polytunnel, and the sunflowers are growing really well. The garden is looking beautiful, and it has been such a lovely place to spend time during the recent good weather.

It’s great to see everything beginning to bloom and grow, and our members are really enjoying spending time outdoors in the sunshine.

A big thank you to our local Community Gardaí who visited our centre today to deliver an informative and engaging talk on cyber-security for our members.

The session covered important topics such as staying safe online, recognising scams, protecting personal information, and using technology securely. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to learn practical tips and ask questions in a friendly environment.

This event formed part of our Information Hub initiative, helping to keep our community informed, connected, and safe in today’s digital world.

We really appreciate the time and support from our local Gardaí and look forward to working together again in the future.

Our Exercise for Wellness chair exercise class stepped things up last week! Donna really upped the ante by introducing pilates balls and hand weights to the session. Everyone did brilliantly, and it was great to see participants challenging themselves while having fun and staying active.
