⚠️ Upcoming farm Farm Hazardous Waste collections ⚠️

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, in conjunction with stakeholders, are facilitating six Farm Hazardous Waste collections to take place during September and October 2026.

The locations for the 2026 collections include Donegal, Louth, Galway, Kilkenny, Kildare and Cork.

The services of a waste management company have been procured to manage the collection, removal and disposal of the waste. Farmers who avail of the service will pay a fee directly to the waste management company for the service.

We here in Castlefin Tidy Towns Association support sustainability and biodiversity. These coming weeks are a good time to take cuttings and save seeds from flowers and plants. This is not only good for the world but also saves money and is good for our mental and physical health to be physically active. We hope to plant these for our displays next year🪴🌱🌺🥀

Who else has been spotting blackberries? Bramble is common in woodland, hedges and scrub. The best time to pick the berries is between late August and September! 🌳
