Hiking 2500m mountains, swimming in glacial lakes, meeting scouts from all over the world; this is how our Rover scout Áine is currently spending her time at Kandersteg International Scout Centre in the heart of the Swiss Alps🏔️🌄🥾❄️
Áine, who started at FSG in 2012 as a beaver and has been with us ever since, has taken her passion for scouting to an international level by becoming one of the volunteers at the World Scout Centre in Switzerland. These international volunteers can come for a short 2 weeks all the way up to a full 3 years and are known as the Pinkies🩷
Áine originally went to KISC, in March this year, as a member of the Spring Short Term Staff team of 12 international volunteers for 3 months. She stayed on as a Helper and then as High Season Staff, in the catering team, for 8 weeks this summer (“the best summer of her life”)!
She has recently accepted the role as Infrastructure Assistant in the Long Term Staff team, which she will begin this October and will stay for a full year🛠️🔩
