With holiday season underway, protecting your skin from the sun is key to maintaining good health and enjoying a stress-free holiday.

Bear in mind that, if you’re someone who either has a form of arthritis and/or medications that make you more vulnerable to photosensitivity (usually a rash triggered by overexposure to the sun), then you need to be even more careful.

Zoei Murphy, thirty-five, lives in Cork. She was diagnosed with PsA when she was just fifteen.

“Now, knowing what Arthritis Ireland have to offer, I just wish someone had directed me to them earlier. They are such a great support. I’ve often emailed them asking for information or different advice and they’re so helpful on so many things.

For me, reading other people’s stories is so very helpful. In a way, it helps me to feel, ‘I’m not the only one going through this. There are other people out there living their life and doing well’. Sometimes I think to myself, ‘Maybe I could try that, or ask a doctor about that thing that person mentioned that really helps them’.
