So the former director of Deutsche Bank director and now UK Home Secretary Savid Javid has declared a 'major incident' that 220 migrants have tried to enter the UK from France since November (about 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of the total UK population number)

The Homeless charity Shelter says 320,000 are homeless in the UK, and other charities have claimed 500,000 kids are going to school hungry everyday.

Pity he isn't concerned about this enough to declare it a "Major Incident", as these two issues - NOT the minuscule numbers boarding boats to cross the English Channel - are.

While we at this page are disgusted at the austerity policies carried out by Fine Gael, as they stand idly by as the numbers of homeless increase, and have little love for the Blueshirts, the comments some people have put up online on pages such as Tallaght says NO about FG Tallaght South Candidate Baby Perrapadam are beyond disgusting.

We condemn the racist hate speech directed at this individual, and hope those at Tallaght says NO will remove the racist hate speech posts, as no genuine Left-Wing Anti-Austerity activist could condone such behaviour.

There was a very bizarre small anti-migrant rally outside the Dail tonight led by ... the Italian far right. Like lads if you have white European migrants heading up your anti-migrant protest it confirms you are a bunch of 'aul racists. And that lot even hate people from Southern Italy!

Their leader Salvini was himself recorded chanting a derogatory song mocking Neapolitans, saying they “smell so bad, even the dogs run away.” In those days it was Southern Italians, rather than migrants, he was scapegoating as a route to power. He's also an anti vaxxer, which reminds us of someone else who has gone full racist in the last couple of weeks.

Tailing the Italian far right tonight were Generation Identity who we recorded on a seig heiling Loyalist protest in Belfast back in June. Fascists in Ireland try out some new branding every couple of years - normally a core part of it is denying they are fascists at all, claiming they just have “concerns.” Tonight they exposed themselves with unusual speed to be a bunch of not very bright racists, just in it for the hate.

There was a counter protest called at a few hours’ notice, which still managed to mobilise about twice as many as the confusing racist protest that had been planned for weeks.

The whole thing is a bizarre rag bag of the far right in Ireland licking up to Farage and UKIP. Regardless of your opinion on the EU, you really have to laugh at Irish “nationalists” daft enough to fail to realise that British Brexit colonialism is not their friend - or indeed people so unaware of our own history as migrants targeted by the far right in Britain during the 1970s and 80s in exactly the sort of way this lot talk about other migrants today.

A final addition - the most visible of the Irish rather than migrant leadership of this anti-migrant movement believes Trump is sending him secrete messages by deliberate misspelling in his tweets. And they get all offended when we point out that their protest was itself entirely based around a far-right conspiracy theory! I always find the writings of the great Socialist and Internationalist James Connolly inspiring, set in stone his views and positions to help us analyse situations in the present.
