Between Forts and Borders: Inishowen
Yulia Gasio
5 September – 4 October 2026
Saldanha Gallery, Fort Dunree

Opening Reception 6:30pm Friday 4 Sept

Originally from Luhansk in eastern Ukraine and now based in California, Yulia reflects on the landscape of Inishowen through her experiences of displacement, contested borders and cultural memory. Her paintings explore landscape as a living archive, bringing together ideas of ocean, defence, migration, history and belonging.

Across Donegal, Ukraine and California, Gasio considers how land and water can bear witness to histories of power, loss, survival and transformation.

Introduction to Bronze Clay | 2-Session Beginner Workshop
Discover the exciting world of bronze clay in this two-session workshop, designed especially for beginners.

Bronze clay is a versatile material made from fine bronze particles, an organic binder, and water. It can be rolled, shaped, textured, carved, and formed much like traditional clay. Once dried and kiln-fired, the binder burns away and the particles fuse together to create a solid bronze piece.

Across two sessions, you’ll learn the basics of working with bronze clay and create your own unique bronze jewellery or small metal pieces — no previous experience required.
