🎃 A big Happy Halloween from Artlink! 👻

Our Zombie Breakdown Workshop, hosted by Amy Carroll was a great success🧟‍♂️ Amy Roddy showed us how to create film-quality zombies, scary enough for the big screen by breaking down clothes!

We then had the chance to hobble along at the Samhain by the Swilly – Parade of the Púca in Buncrana, bringing plenty of spooky fun and Halloween spirit to the streets! 🦇

A fantastic celebration of creativity, community and all things creepy!

Behind the scenes "The Zombie Breakdown Workshop" with the Amy Carroll

Over the course of three sessions, participants learned movie tips and tricks on how to create story telling through the medium costume design. Thanks a million to the people who participated.

And a massive thanks to St. Mary’s Hall for letting us create a huge mess with minimal consequences 🫶

Once our costumes were created, our hoarde of zombies roamed in the Parade of the Púca.

Folkmoot: Sharing Stories, Folklore and Local Knowledge

Join Artlink artist in residence Marianna Bruno for Folkmoot, a gathering to share stories, folklore, local beliefs and memories connected to our landscapes and communities.

Folklore has always grown through conversation, passed from person to person and shaped by the places we inhabit. Inspired by the tradition of the moot, a gathering where people came together to exchange ideas and knowledge, Folkmoot invites everyone to contribute. A half-remembered tale, a family saying, a childhood memory or a curious local belief can all offer a starting point.

Part of Living Mythologies, Marianna’s ongoing artistic research project exploring folklore and cultural memory, the gathering offers an opportunity to listen, share and discover the stories that connect us to the places we call home.

Josephine Kelly | Recent Works

You will create your own dichroic glass pendant and earrings and design and make small hanging Christmas decorations.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a unique jewellery set and one or two festive glass decorations. All materials (including jewellery bails) are provided.

Tack Fuse Glass Workshop

Explore the technique of tack fusing, a low-temperature kiln-forming process where layers of glass are gently heated until they bond together. Unlike full fusing, tack fusing preserves the original textures, shapes and raised surfaces of the glass, creating pieces with depth and a tactile finish.

On this two session workshop you will create your own dichroic glass pendant and earrings and design and make small hanging Christmas decorations.

It was a real pleasure to spend time with Camille Lemoine, the 2026 recipient of the Harry Kerr Bursary, when I was in Glasgow recently for The Married Life of Atoms — a two-person exhibition bringing together the work of Harry Kerr and the first Harry Kerr Bursary recipient, Danielle Macleod.

Camille and I had the chance to talk about her plans for the bursary project, look at some of the work already in progress, and have lunch with Frank McElhinney, a long-time friend of Artlink and a participant in the Street Level Photoworks/Artlink exchange in 2019. Frank kindly took this photograph.

Camille is a Scottish lens-based artist based in Glasgow. Her practice explores the emotional relationships between people and the places they inhabit, often focusing on rural Scotland. For her Harry Kerr Bursary project, she is developing new work that explores her lived experience of invisible illness and disability, and the physical and emotional realities of living with an unresolved diagnosis.

Through collaborative self-portraiture and cameraless photography, Camille will explore relationships between herself, those close to her, and the environments around her. Her approach embraces the limitations she currently faces in her photographic practice, allowing them to open up new and more experimental ways of working.

It was wonderful to hear Camille talk about the project and to see it beginning to take shape. We’re very much looking forward to seeing where her work takes her.

The Harry Kerr Bursary was established by Artlink in memory of Harry, supporting an early-career photographer to develop new work each year.
