2nd Westmeath Scouts The 2nd Westmeath Scout Group in Athlone and have been there for over 90 years. Activities range from badge work, games, camping, cooking

We have a very active Beaver Scout, Cub Scout, Scout and Venture Scout Programme with about 150 members and Leaders.

Well done to all the Scouts that turned up for knots and lashings assessments as part of their pioneering skills badge work last night. End of exams hit attendance numbers, but after exams, who doesn't deserve a rest! Thankyou to Dara, Conor, Zoe, Richard, Corey and Cian for all your efforts. Off to Westport next weekend to climb Croagh Patrick and stay in Lecanvey Community Hall, so no Scouts next Friday night.

Taking full advantage of some decent weather they took to Kayaks, sit-on's and canadian canoes to paddle and have fun. Thankyou to Roisin and the Cub Team and Venturers who recently achieved their kayaking qualifications.

Huge thankyou to all the Guys, Roisin, Pudgy, Niall, Jack, John, Conor and Paraic for all their hard work tidying up the compound today. A lot of undergrowth got rid of and better use made of storage container and trailers. Replaced damaged corner post and place looking ship shape at last. Easy access for kayaking and water activities now.
