Well what an amazing Camp! Courtesy of Corey we have a video of the whole event and reviewing it makes you appreciate all the activity we did on Camp. Huge thank you to all the Scouts that turned up and to all the Leaders for their hard work. Thank you too to Bernadette and the management team at Castleconnell Campsite for being so welcoming. Great Campsite and as Arnie says, 'we will be back'.

Great weather here today to compliment the onsite Troop activities like setting up hammocks, navigation skills, shelter building, actions on lost, and a cooking competition between the Patrols, who the winner is, being top secret! The young Leaders have been truly amazing (and the not so young!)

A great day trip into Limerick and the new Hoodies went down a treat for the day even if it was a bit warm! King John's Castle was a great place to visit and to see the Treaty Stone. Also a visit to St. Mary's Cathedral was very interesting and the tour guides made us feel very welcome. Even got a picture with statue of Richard Harris, a Limerick man of note! Supermacs and a quiz in the People's Park with some shopping in town so it was a busy day but relaxing and great fun.

Two programmes in operation last night, Patrol Leaders had a hammocking night where they prepared 'Cowboy Stew' and I am legally obliged to say it was delicious! Patrols, led by their Assistant PL's had a survival night in the Forest and both activities went very well, especially for the new Scouts being their first night in a Forest. Huge thank you to all the young Leaders for doing such a good job of planning and running the events.

Castleconnell Campsite

From Castleconnell, a fantastic campsite on the edge of Limerick more pictures of activities over the last 24 hours. Patrol Leaders returned from their overnight on the mountains with all their gear, excited but wrecked! On site activities for their Assistant PL led Patrols included Kellykettles to make tea with biscuits, Cabar Cookers to make pancakes, making Viking sun compasses, First Aid, Turkes Head Woggle making, and a game of 'Mafia'! Well done and thankyou to all the Leaders Peter, Niall, Sean D., Rafal, Zoe, Dara, Emmett, Conor, Corey, Richard, Gearoid and Cian, without whom the level of Camp activities would not be possible.

Another busy day at Castleconnell for Athlone Scouts, a hiking day covering 16km across the Silvermines Mountains from Keepers Hill. Patrol Leaders overnight in Vangos with Leaders Peter, Sean and Niall staying overnight too. Thank you to Corey, Rafal, Dara and Cian for their hike as well. While back at the Campsite, cooking and Patrol Inspections with Patrols led by their APL's for a change. Amazing group of young people and a privilege to have them all on Camp.
