Next Gen Signal: Meet SK Chairperson Gab Lopez— or simply Gab — a 24-years-old youth leader from Nagcarlan, Laguna, Philippines who believes leadership should actually feel close to the people, not distant from them.

As the National Vice Chairperson of the Model SK Network and SK Chairperson of Barangay Kanluran Kabubuhayan, Gab advocates for “Bukas na Pamahalaan, Tungo sa Maunlad na Bayan!” — a vision of governance that is open, transparent, and people-centered. For him, young people deserve more than just a seat in the room; they deserve real opportunities to shape decisions, create solutions, and lead communities forward.
Passionate about digital rights, media literacy, and youth participation, Gab continues to push conversations that matter — from fighting disinformation to making governance more accessible and understandable for everyday people. Growing up in a digital generation, he understands both the power and responsibility that come with online spaces, and he believes the youth can use these platforms to spark meaningful change.
Beyond titles and positions, Gab’s leadership is rooted in one thing: making people feel heard.

Meet Dun Co**ha Abiera, a 27-year-old youth leader from the Philippines passionate about digital empowerment and community building. As the founder of YABONG, a youth-led nonprofit, she focuses on promoting media and information literacy among young people, helping communities address misinformation, cyber safety, and the ethical use of digital platforms.

Coming from the social media capital of the world, she has seen firsthand how powerful online spaces can be for shaping narratives and driving change. That is why she is committed to equipping youth with the skills to become informed, responsible, and impactful digital citizens. Through her advocacy, she aims to amplify underrepresented voices, encourage cross-sector collaboration, and create spaces where young leaders are not just included, but truly heard.

Her signal? ”As leaders in social enterprise and the development space, we're here to question who built the table, who it was built for, and why entire communities were left standing. Impact, for me, has never been about waiting for permission. With grit, purpose, and a clear vision of equity, we design solutions that center people. The Bali Pádel + AI Retreat is guided by two worlds coming together.

DCN Global brings its experience in designing learning spaces around digital skills, AI, and storytelling. Only in Bali Pádel brings professional coaching, movement, and a strong sense of community through sport.

Together, they created a retreat where mornings focus on movement and awareness on court, and afternoons open space for practical AI and digital storytelling workshops.
Experienced professionals leading each part of the program, combining practical expertise with a focused, participant-centered approach.

No prior experience in pádel or AI is required. Sessions are adapted to different levels, with the emphasis on learning, confidence, and real progress.

Next Gen Signal: Joko Susilo

Meet Susilo, a highly accomplished individual with a diverse background in education, AI, economics, renewable energy initiatives, and more. Currently, he is interning as a Research & Academics Intern at Catalyst of Change ASEAN in the Policy & Governance division, where he contributes to sustainable development projects.

He holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Indonesian International Islamic University in Jakarta, where he focused on areas such as education, well-being, economic development, climate change, policy, and writing. During his time at IIIU, Susilo also served as Advisor and President of the Ecobiz Student Association at FEB, IIIU, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to academic and professional excellence.
