Σκοποί του ιδρύματος είναι κυρίως η προσπάθεια ανάπτυξης, προαγωγής και μελέτης του πολιτισμού και της ιστορίας της χώρας μας και ιδιαιτέρως της ευρύτερης περιοχής των Τρικάλων, καθώς επίσης και η κοινωνική/φιλανθρωπική δράση με έμφαση στον τομέα της παιδείας.
Οι ανωτέρω σκοποί θα επιτευχθούν με κάθε πρόσφορο τρόπο και μέσο κια ιδιαίτερα με τους ενδεικτικά αναφερόμενους τρόπους:

κδόσεις
β) Συνέδρια και ημερίδες
γ) Διαλέξεις και ομιλίες
δ) Εκπόνηση μελετών
ε) Υποτροφίες για σπουδές σε αριστούχους φοιτητές, ανωτάτης εκπαίδευσης πανεπιστημιακού τομέα των αναγνωρισμένων ελληνικών κρατικών Α.Ε.Ι. που παρουσιάζουν οικονομική αδυναμία
στ) Επιχορηγήσεις προς ανάλογους πνευματικούς φορείς
ζ) Δημιουργία χώρων εκθέσεων
η) Προκηρύξεις βραβείων που άπτονται του σκοπού του ιδρύματος
καθώς και με κάθε άλλο πρόσφορο τρόπο και ανάγκη, που τυχόν θα ανακύψει κατά τη διαδρομή και ανέλιξη των δραστηριοτήτων του ιδρύματος και θα κριθεί σύμφωνα προς την άλλη δραστηριότητά του.

A non-profit public benefit foundation created to preserve and reinforce the history and legacy of Chatzigakis family with roots from Trikala, Thessalias. A family with significant impact in the political, cultural, academic, humanitarian scene of Greece for more than 200 years. It was founded in July 2008 by Panayiotis Chr. Chatzigakis, officially commencing to serve its mission in 2012. It bears the name of renowned lawyer and writer Panayiotis Chr. Chatzigakis who donated his entire fortune to the state in support of the creation and smooth operation of Chatzigakis Foundation. The mission in two major pillars:
1. Reinforcing and enhancing Greek Culture in the country and especially around the area of Trikala, Thessalias.
2. Philanthropic and humanitarian programs with emphasis on education. It will be achieved through a wide range of actions:
1. Scholarships to undergraduate top-grade Greek students from underprivileged backgrounds for their studies in all widely recognized Greek state universities A.E.I.
2. Awards with financial prizes
3. Conferences and educational lectures
4. Commissioning research efforts and studies on culture
5. Related publications
6. Grants to the equivalent institutions
7. Creation of new exhibition spaces
