📢 An update from Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre

We wanted to take a moment to update our community and explain why the Centre has been closed over the past week.

Following recent changes to our management team and Board of Trustees, we have taken the opportunity to review the Centre's operations, procedures and facilities to ensure that everything is working as it should and that we continue to provide a safe, welcoming and effective service for our community.

We felt that taking a short period to carry out these checks and put any necessary measures in place was the responsible thing to do, particularly with the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, volunteers, staff and community at the heart of everything we do.

Please be assured that YVC remains very much here for our community. ❤️

Our team is working through the necessary steps as quickly as possible, and we are looking forward to reopening our doors and welcoming everyone back very soon.

We'd like to thank our volunteers, staff, customers and supporters for their patience and understanding while we carry out this important work.

We'll keep you updated and let you know as soon as we have a confirmed reopening date.

We're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to join our amazing team at the YVC!

🥫 Foodbank Volunteer
📅 Tuesdays | 🕙 10:00am – 12:00pm
Help us support local people by:
• Welcoming visitors
• Sorting and organising food donations.
• Packing food parcels.
• Restocking shelves and keeping the foodbank tidy.
• Helping ensure everyone receives the support they need.

☕ Community Café Volunteer
📅 Tuesdays
As a café volunteer you could:
• Welcome and chat with customers.
• Serve teas, coffees and light refreshments.
• Clear and clean tables and help keep the café looking inviting.
• Wash up and assist with general kitchen duties.
• Help create a friendly atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

💻 Website Volunteer
We're looking for someone with website experience to help keep our website up to date. This could include:
• Updating information and upcoming events.
• Adding news, photos and community updates.
• Ensuring the website is easy to navigate and current.
• Helping us maintain a positive online presence.

🔌 PAT Testing Volunteer
We're looking for a volunteer to help carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to ensure our electrical equipment remains safe for everyone to use.

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided. If you're willing to learn and would like to support our charity in this important role, we'd love to hear from you.

📋 Trustees Wanted
We're also looking for new Trustees to help guide our charity. Trustees attend one meeting each month and work with the team to support the charity's vision, make key decisions and ensure we continue to meet the needs of our community.
