Ystradgynlais Public Band Ystradgynlais Public Band - Registered Charity Number 1046765

The Ystradgynlais Band was formed in the nineteenth century, though the earliest surviving records date back to 1903. As well as arranging local concerts such as this one, we support other community organisations such as the hospital, schools and nursing homes and take part in activities organised by Communities First. The Band competes regularly at the Brangwyn Hall and the National Eisteddfod,

which is broadcast live on S4C. We’re a registered charity and none of our players, tutors, conductors or administrators receive any remuneration from the Band.

Another chapter in the band's history has come to a close. Libanus Chapel has been sold and we have moved out. Most of our stuff is in temporary storage and rehearsals will continue on Tuesday evenings at Coelbren Welfare Hall while we finalise our next steps.

The Ystradgynlais Brass Band is a registered charity that's been making music in the community for well over a century. We currently meet at Libanus Chapel, but this is about to be sold. We're looking for a venue that can house our instruments and music, and accommodate our weekly rehearsals. Can you help? Let us know! 🎺

Blodau are teaming up with the wonderful Ystradgynlais Brass Band for a lovely afternoon of music, tea, cakes and fun! 🎺☕🍰

📅 Saturday 26th July
📍 The Green at Maes y Cwm (opposite the Library)
🕑 Afternoon – just bring a blanket and come enjoy the tunes!

Expect beautiful brass melodies, delicious homemade cakes, and plenty of good vibes. Whether you’re popping by or staying for the whole show, everyone’s welcome!
