Wymondham Dementia Support Group - WDSG Supporting People with Dementia and their carers - EVERY MONDAY AND FRIDAY morning at the Fairland Church Centre, Wymondham, from 10am.

We offer in Cafe style, a warm friendly environment for people with Dementia & their carers and families. Our main service on a Monday and Friday morning at the Pabulum Café, in Wymondham Fairland Church Centre every Friday, from 10am - the Carers move next door to the Church Hall at 11 for support and information until 12, while the Cared For are supported by volunteers, in a variety of activitie

s (see our Photo Albums!!), Our numbers are reduced at this time due to the COVID restrictions and we are only allowed to meet in a group of 15 so our visits are booked by calling 07391659057. When not restricted by COVID 19 the 3rd week of each month is different: Tuesday from 1.30 is the Pabulum Picture Palace (Blue-Ray films of Members' choice shown full-screen with ice-creams & beverages, £1 per head), and on the Third Fridays, ‘The Singing Café’ which finishes at 12.00 (the URC members then provide a buffet lunch in the hall next door for anyone in the community). Favourite & remembered songs played by high quality players, to sing along to (& even dance, if we have space!) At this time these special days are suspended but we will get back to offering this service when possible. ⛳ Dementia Friendly Golf sessions offer a relaxed and welcoming way to enjoy gentle physical activity, social connection, and time outdoors in a supportive environment.
These inclusive sessions focus on participation, confidence and enjoyment rather than competition helping people stay active in a way that feels comfortable and up-lifting.

A fantastic morning, admiring the amazing Easter bonnets created by members and volunteers! Thank you to everyone who took part, and a special thank you to our wonderful volunteer, Linda, who encouraged and supported lots of members creating their bonnets. What an amazing day we had on Friday! Our incredibly talented member, Pat, celebrated the launch of her beautiful book of poems, and we were delighted to mark the occasion with her. Pat was thrilled to sign copies, making the day even more special for everyone who attended.
We are truly honoured that the funds raised from her book will be donated to support our group—such a generous gesture.
We were also pleased to welcome special guest Ben Goldsborough, our local MP, who joined us for the launch. He spent time with us throughout the entire session, visiting each activity and chatting with our members, which was greatly appreciated.
Adding to the occasion, our wonderful Patron, Lady Dannatt, dropped in to personally congratulate Pat on her fantastic achievement.

A memorable day full of celebration, community spirit, and inspiration—thank you to everyone who made it so special!
