We’re pleased to share some fantastic feedback from a Worthing Homes resident about Joe, one of the operatives from Ian Williams, our Responsive Repairs contractor.

Since working with Ian Williams on our responsive repairs service, we have been focused on improving the experience residents receive when they report a repair.

That includes the quality of the work, clear communication and treating every resident and their home with care and respect.

One resident recently told us:
“Joseph was very respectful, efficient, considerate and kind. He was informative about the job and what he would be doing. Beyond that, he showed interest and asked questions kindly about my disabled daughter and ensured the work he was doing, including noise, had minimal impact on her. This was a welcome and appreciated interaction.”

We’re really pleased to see Joe recognised not only for the quality of his work, but for the care, understanding and respect he showed to the resident and her family.

Well done, Joe.

We’re working closely with Ian Williams and listening to residents so we can keep improving our Responsive Repairs service.

Your feedback plays an important part in that.

If you would like to tell us about your experience of a recent repair, you can share your feedback in many ways:

We’re delighted to be exhibiting at the Better Business Show 2026 hosted by Worthing & Adur Chamber Of Commerce

If you’re a Worthing Homes resident, this is a great chance to come and meet some of the people behind the services, projects and community work happening across Worthing Homes.

You’ll be able to speak with colleagues from our People & Culture, Marketing & Communications, Resident Engagement and Worthing Homes Community House, Worthing teams. Our Chief Executive, Donna Cezair, will also be there on the day.

We want residents to feel connected to the work we do and to the wider community around them. That means listening to your views, building stronger local partnerships and finding more ways to support the people and places we serve.

Events like the Better Business Show give us the chance to meet local organisations, businesses and community partners who can help create more opportunities for residents.

It also gives you the chance to:
meet members of the Worthing Homes team
find out more about what we do
learn about local community projects and support
discover how we work with local organisations
share your views and ask questions

The Better Business Show brings together businesses, community organisations and professionals from across Worthing and Adur, so there will be plenty to see and explore on the day.

Thursday 17 September 2026
10am to 3pm
Worthing Leisure Centre, Shaftesbury Avenue, Worthing, BN12 4ET

If you’re nearby, come and find us at our stand. We’d love to see you.

Have your say on climate action in West Sussex!

Sustainability is an important priority for Worthing Homes, and we’re proud to have recently achieved Gold in our SHIFT sustainability assessment.

Now, residents across West Sussex have the chance to help shape what climate action looks like across the county.

West Sussex County Council, together with district and borough councils across the county, is inviting residents to share their views on plans to reduce carbon emissions and prepare for the effects of climate change.

The consultation covers topics including homes, transport, businesses and how communities can adapt to challenges such as hotter weather and increased flooding.

Your feedback will help shape future climate action across West Sussex and ensure local priorities are reflected in the plans.

The consultation is open until 27 September 2026.

Find out more and complete the survey: https://yourvoice.westsussex.gov.uk/climatesurvey

If you'd like to have your say on climate action in your local area, now is a great opportunity to get involved!

Today's International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition is a time to remember the millions of people who were enslaved, exploited and denied their freedom.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on the lasting impact of slavery and the importance of continuing to challenge racism, discrimination and inequality.

At Worthing Homes, we're committed to creating homes and communities where everyone feels safe, respected and welcome.

We've shared a new blog that explores the history behind the day, highlights useful resources for learning more and provides information on where to find support or report racism and hate incidents.

Supporting a Night with the Stars ⭐

We're proud to be supporting Andy's Angels at their upcoming A Night with the Stars fundraiser at The Factory Live.

As part of the event, we've donated a brand-new iPad to the raffle, helping raise funds for the charity's work supporting children, young people and families affected by bereavement and loss.

The iPad was collected by Steve, Andy’s Angels’ Fundraising, Media and Print Communications Volunteer, who is also an active member of our Residents’ Voice. It was great to be able to support a cause that means so much to someone who also gives their time to helping shape and improve our services.

The event takes place on Sunday 6 September and promises a fantastic evening of live music, entertainment and community spirit, all in support of a wonderful local cause.

🎟️ Tickets are available now, so if you'd like to support Andy’s Angels and enjoy a great night out, why not get involved?
And if you're entering the raffle, good luck!

Planning to watch the partial solar eclipse on 12 August?

A partial solar eclipse will be visible across the UK on Wednesday 12 August, with the Moon covering part of the Sun for a short time during the early evening.

If you're hoping to catch a glimpse, it's important to protect your eyes. Never look directly at the Sun, even during an eclipse, as this can cause serious and permanent eye damage.

To watch safely, use eclipse glasses designed for viewing the Sun, or try an indirect viewing method, such as a pinhole projector.

Find out how to make a pinhole projector at home here: https://youtu.be/2KDicNcqmAM?si=54r85MBcSiHxHUcV

Regular sunglasses, cameras, binoculars and telescopes without the correct solar filters are not safe for viewing the Sun.

Whether you're watching on your own or with family and friends, enjoy the experience and remember to put safety first.

You can find more information about watching the eclipse safely using the links below. 🌞🌑
