As Black History Month comes to a close, our fourth and final blog takes a moment to reflect on what we have shared, what we have learnt and what we can carry forward.

Drawing on Stuart Hall’s work on race, identity and belonging, we consider whose stories are heard, how we understand one another and what it means to feel part of a community.

The end of October doesn’t mark the end of these conversations. It is an opportunity to think about how our learning can shape the way we listen, respond and support one another throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read and reflect with us this month. We hope this series has offered something to think about, talk about and take forward.

National Tenant Involvement Week takes place from Monday 16 to Friday 20 November, offering residents the chance to take part in a series of free online sessions.

Organised by Tpas England, the week celebrates the difference residents can make in shaping housing services and strengthening communities. It's an opportunity to hear from residents across the country, learn from their experiences and explore ways to get involved.

🔧 How residents can help shape repairs and contractor services.
💬 How complaints and feedback can lead to positive change.
🤝 How communities are working together to improve local neighbourhoods.

Whether you're already involved with Worthing Homes or are interested in having more of a say, these sessions are a great way to hear new ideas and learn how resident voices can influence services.

Sessions are free, held online and open to everyone. You do not need to be a Tpas member, and you can attend whichever sessions interest you.

As part of our Black History Month series, our latest blog explores why talking about racism matters. It looks at the importance of listening to people’s experiences, challenging discrimination and taking everyday actions that help create more welcoming communities.

A cuppa, a chat and ideas for your community!

Join us at our next Community Champions meet-up. Whether you're already a Community Champion or are interested in finding out more, we'd love to welcome you.

Community Champions play an important role in helping people feel connected to their neighbourhoods. They share information, listen to local views, encourage community involvement and help bring neighbours together. You don't need any special experience, just an interest in your community and a willingness to get involved.

Yesterday was World Menopause Day, but conversations about menopause matter all year round.

Worthing Homes Community House, Worthing is offering a 10-week menopause course designed to help you understand menopause, explore ways to manage symptoms and support your wellbeing. Each week will focus on a different topic, giving you the opportunity to learn more and share experiences in a supportive environment.

Every Thursday, starting 7 January

Both received a gardening voucher to help them continue enjoying their fantastic outdoor spaces.
