WOW

WOW! is an award-winning musical youth theatre group based in Witham, Essex. All our funding is based on box office returns from our annual production.

is the junior section of Witham Amateur Operatic Society (WAOS) and has been performing a variety of challenging and outstanding musical theatre productions every year since 1996. is a not for profit, volunteer-run musical youth theatre group for 11-21 year olds based in Witham, Essex, England and is a subsidiary of Witham Amateur Operatic Society, Registered Charity Number: 265029. We perform at

the Public Hall, Collingwood Road, Witham, Essex, usually in the half-term week in February. Prospective members are warmly welcomed to join us for our spring and summer workshops and for auditions in September each year. Our 2023 show will be All Shook Up and will be performed at Witham Public Hall from the 13th to the 18th February

Exciting news!
Introducing the first of our special guests, Harry Tunningley, who will be working with the young people during our summer schools this year.

Harry Tunningley is a musical theatre performer and teacher, originally from Essex. He trained at ArtsEd London, graduating with a degree in Musical Theatre, and has since performed professionally across the UK and Europe. His credits include dancing and covering lead roles in the Cork Opera House pantomime, and 16 months in Germany as a swing in Starlight Express das Musical, where he covered six ensemble tracks and two male leads, mastering the show’s demanding roller skating choreography. Harry is currently in The Devil Wears Prada the musical at the Dominion Theatre in the West End for one year and covering the role of Nate, the boyfriend.

Harry first found his love for performing with WAOS and WOW between 2013 and 2017, performing in productions such as Loserville, Oliver!, Spamalot, and Half a Sixpence, and was proud to win the NODA award for Best Young Actor during his time there. Returning now to teach feels incredibly special. Over the last three years, Harry has taught singing, acting, and dance to young performers in London, helping to create youth productions and performance opportunities for 7–17 year olds.

Congratulations to all the WOW cast, creative team, crew and every volunteer that worked so hard to make Les Miserables in 2025 so amazing! The work paid off and for the second year in a row WOW received NODA Best Youth Production for our district.
