Snow Angels Supporting older people to live independently

Supporting older people to live independently using a range of projects and services, these include;

- Developing local projects and volunteer networks to provide practical support and befriending
- Working with GP’s to support patients to improve their well-being
- Providing a single point of access for referrals for support services across the voluntary sector
- Providing support to patients being discharged from hospital and residential care
- Development of reminiscence projects
- Delivering strategic projects including Cold Weather Plans, delivering conferences, and working with home visiting services using the “Make Every Contact Count” approach

The sound of songs from the 60s could be heard at the cafe today as one of our service users kindly created a list for us which we used to test our knowledge of artists from the era 🎶 🎤 Prizes were chocolates generously donated by another of our lovely clients 🥰 We then enjoyed home made sausage rolls, wedges and salad followed by mini fruit pavlovas 🍓🫐

Last night we had the pleasure of spending the evening with some of our wonderful volunteers who we invited to join us for nibbles and drinks to thank them for their support 🥨🥂🧃🍕
It was lovely to catch up with them, and for them to meet each other. Today at the Keep Connected Cafe we had a visit from Michael of Cheshire West Voluntary Action who discussed Resilience in Action with our service users, sharing ideas about how to prepare for and respond to emergencies 💭 We then enjoyed a very tasty lunch of fish mornay served with new potatoes and peas followed by a tropical fruit salad and cream 🍍🍑🍌🍈

It was lovely to catch up with everyone again today at our cafe where we served baked potatoes with a bolognaise sauce followed by rice pudding and peaches 🍑 As well as lots of conversation, a game or two of dominoes was also enjoyed 😊
