Hedgehogs love to eat beetles, caterpillars, worms and other invertebrates, but in the colder months when these natural food sources are harder to come by, they'll appreciate a helping hand!

Providing suitable food and water for hedgehogs can help them build up their weight in the run up to hibernation season.

So many of you will have tagged her in a plea to help an animal in need. Locally, she is known for her outstanding dedication to volunteering and preventing animals from suffering. You may even have met her in person when you have found an animal in distress and she has collected it from you to take the animal for treatment.

Sonia is now receiving at Moyà Cole, and in true Sonia style, she wants to raise enough funds to pay for her stay. She wants to raise enough funds so that the next person who needs their care can receive it.

One of our volunteers, Charlotte, recently needed a new garden fence. For our prickly little friends, a brand-new, solid fence can act like a giant brick wall, cutting off their foraging routes and trapping them in (or out) of vital habitats. Hedgehogs can travel up to 2km a night looking for food and mates, so they need a clear path!

Enter the wonderful Phil at Northumbria Fencing! 🛠️✨

Phil didn't just build a fantastic, sturdy new fence - he made sure the local wildlife wasn't left behind. He kindly installed custom Hedgehog Highways (those perfect little 13cm x 13cm gaps at the base) to ensure the local hogs can safely pass through and go about their nightly business.
