आज बेलायतको गृह मन्त्रालय (Home Office) ले यसो लेखेको छन् “आधुनिक दासत्व (Modern Slavery) को कुनै पनि पीडित आफ्नो अध्यागमन स्थितिका कारण शोषण गर्ने रोजगारदातासँग बाँधिएर बस्न बाध्य हुनु हुँदैन।
आजदेखि, Skilled Worker Visa मा रहेका र आधिकारिक रूपमा पीडितको रूपमा पहिचान गरिएका व्यक्तिहरूले आफ्नो अध्यागमन स्थिति जोखिममा नपारी दुर्व्यवहार वा शोषण गर्ने रोजगारदाता छोडेर अन्त काम गर्न सक्नेछन्।”

तपाईं पनि कसैकोमा काम गर्दै हुनुहुन्छ भन्दैमा शोषण सहनु तपाईंको बाध्यता हुनु हुदैन।
कामको भिसा छ भन्दैमा कसैले तपाईंलाई डर देखाउन, नियन्त्रण गर्न वा शोषण गर्न पाउँदैन।

शोषण भनेको कुटपिट मात्रै होइन।

तलब नदिनु वा कम दिनु, अत्यधिक घण्टा काम लगाउनु, छुट्टी नदिनु, धम्की दिनु, पासपोर्ट/कागजात नियन्त्रणमा राख्नु, काम छोडे भिसा रद्द गराइदिन्छु वा देश निकाला गराइदिन्छु भनेर डर देखाउनु, ऋण वा पैसाको दबाबमा काम गर्न बाध्य पार्नु, बस्ने ठाउँ वा आवतजावत नियन्त्रण गर्नु जस्ता व्यवहार गम्भीर exploitation का संकेत हुन सक्छन्।

यूके Home Office को आधिकारिक तथ्यांकअनुसार 2025 मा 23,411 सम्भावित modern slavery victims लाई National Referral Mechanism मा refer गरिएको थियो जुन अघिल्लो वर्षभन्दा 22% बढी र अहिलेसम्मकै उच्च संख्या। तीमध्ये 8,406 (36%) cases labour exploitation मात्रैसँग सम्बन्धित थिए, र वयस्कहरूमा labour exploitation सबैभन्दा धेरै रिपोर्ट भएको प्रकार थियो।

यदि कसैलाई धम्की, डर, नियन्त्रण वा बाध्यतामार्फत काम गराइँदैछ, त्यसलाई सामान्य ठानेर चुप लाग्नु अब आवश्यक छैन।

विशेष गरी immigration status को डर देखाएर कसैलाई शोषण गरिँदैछ भने तुरुन्तै सहयोग खोज्नुहोस्। Scotland मा आफू वा अरू कसैबारे चिन्ता भए पनि पूर्ण प्रमाण नभईकन concern उठाउन सकिन्छ।

King Charles III of the UK has expressed condolences to those affected by the devastating floods along the Nepal-China border.

The UK government has offered £5 million in emergency assistance to Nepal, while more than 30 British nationals remain missing. The King also said the UK stands ready to support Nepal.

नेपाल-चीन सीमामा आएको विनाशकारी बाढीपछि सयौं मानिसहरू बेपत्ता छन्।

विन्चेस्टरमा, हाम्रो नेपाली समुदाय प्रभावित क्षेत्रहरूमा परिवारका सदस्यहरू र साथीहरूलाई सम्पर्क गर्ने प्रयास गर्दै भेला भइरहेको छ।

Hundreds of people are missing after devastating flash floods hit the Nepal-China border.

Many Gurkhas are employed at The Gurkha Museum Trust, Royal Mail, Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Army Training Regiment Wi******er and the British Army locally.

🇬🇧🇳🇵 Former British Gurkha Veterans र तिनका Families ले UK Settlement Visa कुन–कुन Route बाट पाउन सक्छन्?

(Adult Children र Minor Children सम्बन्धी स्पष्ट जानकारी थाहा पाउनुस्:
पूर्व ब्रिटिश गोर्खा सैनिक (Former British Gurkha Veterans) तथा तिनका परिवारका सदस्यहरूले UK मा settlement (ILE/ILR) विभिन्न कानुनी तथा discretionary routes मार्फत प्राप्त गर्न सक्छन्। विशेष गरी pre-1 July 1997 discharge भएका Gurkha veterans का लागि UK सरकारले छुट्टै नीति तथा historical injustice आधारित व्यवस्था लागू गरेको छ।
1️⃣ Former British Gurkha Veteran Route
यो मुख्य route स्वयं ex-Gurkha veteran का लागि हो। Eligibility:
* British Army को Brigade of Gurkhas मा सेवा गरेको हुनुपर्ने
* सामान्यतया कम्तीमा 4 वर्ष सेवा गरेको हुनुपर्ने
* 1 July 1997 भन्दा अगाडि discharge भएको case मा विशेष discretionary settlement policy लागू हुने गर्दछ

2️⃣ Spouse / Widow Route
पूर्व गोर्खा सैनिकका:
* श्रीमती (wife) * विधवा (widow)

विशेष गरी widow cases मा:
* late Gurkha veteran को service history
* marriage relationship
* dependency
* continuing family life महत्त्वपूर्ण हुन्छ।

सामान्य requirement:

* father/mother ex-Gurkha veteran हुनुहुन्छ भने

* Gurkha veteran को छोरा/छोरी UK मा settled छन्
* अनि तिनका minor children छन्,त्यो case मा पनि child family settlement route वा Article 8 route बाट apply हुन सक्छ

4️⃣ Adult Dependent Children Route
यो Gurkha cases को सबैभन्दा sensitive र legally complex route हो।
UK सरकारले historical injustice लाई मान्यता दिँदै adult children लाई पनि settlement दिन discretionary policy राखेको छ।

* 18 वर्ष माथिको छोरा/छोरी * unmarried
* financially & emotionally dependent
भएको व्यक्ति।
