We’ve got a new PCSO in the area 👋

PCSO Jessica Thornley will be holding regular police surgeries at Earlam’s Community Store & Café. It’s a really easy way to pop in, say hello, and raise any local concerns or questions.

📅 Dates: Friday 15th May – 14:30–15:30
Tuesday 7th July – 14:30–15:30
Wednesday 9th September – 14:30–15:30

No appointment needed, just turn up.

These sessions are a great chance to talk about anything from local issues to general advice, or even just to put a face to the name.

If you can’t make those dates, you can contact Jessica directly on: 📧 [email protected]
📞 101 (non-emergency)

And as always, 999 in an emergency.

Good to see more local presence in the community 👍

🌟 This time last year… we won TWO awards! 🌟

At the Cheshire Best Kept Station Awards 2023, Styal Station proudly took home:
🏅 Top Rising Star
🎨 Highly Commended for our Art Installation – voted for by our amazing community via Cheshire Life Magazine!

It was such a proud moment for our volunteer team, who’ve poured time, effort and a lot of love into keeping the station welcoming, clean and full of life.

🧤 And guess what? The team have been just as busy again this year – repainting, planting, sweeping, watering, scrubbing and smiling through all seasons 🌼❄️🌿☀️

The 2024 awards are just around the corner on 5th February… so let’s see if we’re lucky again this time! 🤞
Whatever happens, we’re so proud of what’s been achieved by this small but mighty community group.

Thank you to everyone who supports Styal Station and helps keep it a special part of our village 🚉💛

Little village station. Big moment. 🥹
Our lovely Styal railway station has made the local press thanks to our community photo competition and seeing it featured in the Wilmslow paper feels pretty special.

This whole project has been about shining a light on a station that means a lot to the village. The history, the people, the volunteers who quietly graft away to make it welcoming and full of pride. No corporate budgets. Just time, care and a lot of community spirit.

Huge thanks to everyone who picked up a camera, shared a photo, voted, supported and cheered us on. And to the Friends of Styal Station crew who make things happen without fuss.

Proof that small places can still do brilliant things when people pull together 💛

If you haven’t spotted the article yet, it’s well worth a read.

From the many entries received, judges have shortlisted nine photographs including entries from both Friends of Styal Station and Alderley Edge Station Volunteer Group.

Styal Primary School is hosting its Christmas Fair next week and everyone’s welcome to come along.

Thursday 5 December, 3.30pm to 5pm at the school.

Expect crafts, stalls, treats, mulled wine, Santa’s Grotto, games and all the festive buzz the kids love. We’ve also got sausages and sausage rolls donated by our fabulous local business Cottoms and they’re honestly divine.

Plus The Grinch and Santa will both be there for a meet & greet, so the kids are going to be beside themselves.

If you’re local and fancy getting into the Christmas spirit, come along and support the school.

Hope to see you there! 🎄✨

🌺 Lest We Forget 🌺

A heartfelt thank you to everyone in Styal who joined us for the Remembrance Service. It was so lovely to see the community come together to honour those who served and sacrificed.

We also want to say a special thanks to Cheshire East Council for the thoughtful addition of the poppy design on the path in front of the cenotaph — a simple but powerful tribute that made the space feel even more meaningful. ❤️

It was a beautiful and respectful gathering — thank you, Styal 🌹
