Okay, one last post before tomorrow… although by now you probably know more about the Revival Community Fun Day than you ever wanted to! 😂
But I wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Alice, and I’m the General Manager of this amazing social enterprise café.
8 years ago I didn’t have somewhere like Revival. I didn’t have a space where I felt safe. I didn’t really know who I was anymore.
I experienced periods of significant changes in my mood, energy and ability to function, with times when I felt extremely low and other periods where my thoughts, energy and activity levels became much more intense. I spent ages trying to understand what had happened to me and why I felt the way I did.
If I’d had somewhere like Revival back then, I honestly believe both me and my family could have had support in ways the usual pathways simply couldn’t offer.
Because sometimes it’s not about finding a cure. It’s about having somewhere you feel safe, heard, understood and connected. ❤️
That is why I shout about Revival so much.
That is why I do the job I do.
And that is why I desperately want tomorrow’s Community Fun Day to be a success, because every penny raised helps us continue creating opportunities for connection, confidence, community and support for people experiencing mental health difficulties and social isolation.
So if you’ve ever known someone who has struggled with their mental health, felt disconnected, withdrawn or just not known where they fit…
Please know there is support out there.
And maybe, just maybe, someone will see this post tomorrow and think:
“Maybe there is somewhere for me.”
That would make every single one of these annoying posts worth it. 😂❤️
