Our Community Signposting service is run by volunteers currently a few says a week to help point local people in the direction of local services, groups or information. Volunteer IT buddy Service provides one to one support to Jobseekers looking for work online. They can also support anyone wanting to learn a little bit more on how to use a PC or tablet for keeping in touch or internet for job searching or research for hobbies or just to keep up with the technology trend. Appointments for IT buddies can be booked at the office.

Remember to join us tomorrow morning at 10.30 for the last Friends of Polkemmet session of the year 🌳

Hi everyone! 👋

The last volunteer session of the year (can't believe I'm writing that!) will be on Sunday 1st November from 10:30am-12:30pm, where we will be 'beating up' tree saplings that were planted last year. 🌿 This involves weeding tree tubes, replacing any broken tubes and stakes and replanting any dead trees.

The meeting place is outside the Ranger Office, left of the archway near the Visitor Centre. From there it is a roughly 7 minute walk to the work area. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear, and bring any snacks and drinks you might require. The closest toilets will be near the Visitor Centre.

Family groups are welcome, under 16's must be accompanied and supervised by their adult.

Kidzeco are hosting a Mini First Aid here at Whitburn Community Centre on 3rd November for a 2-hour session to help you feel more confident dealing with an emergency.

The session will cover everything from choking and CPR to bleeding, bumps, breaks and burns, as well as febrile convulsions and meningitis awareness.

Taking place on Tuesday 3rd November 1-3pm with a cost of £5.
