Whickham Hermitage Community Garden is a Victorian walled garden, providing an oasis in the heart of Whickham's bustling village. This community garden in Gateshead has been lovingly restored and renewed by dedicated volunteers and experts. Enjoy a walk around to appreciate the vast array of plants, some in our unusual igloo domes and visit the wildlife pond (the old mini boating lake). Garden scu

lptures have been created on-site by local artists and there's a children's playhouse for little visitors to enjoy! Plant sale area - cash only please. Orangery Coffee Shop is independently run. The cafe and gardens will be closing at 14.00 today as we are hosting a private event. We’ll be back open as normal on Tuesday at 9.00 🍮
