Another Lovely Tuesday Night Walk ❤️🚶‍♀️

What a fabulous turnout tonight! There’s something so lovely about seeing everyone arrive, the conversations starting before we’ve even set off, and plenty of laughter all the way around. 😂

A huge warm welcome to our lovely new ladies Susan, Ann and Myriam. 🥰 It was an absolute pleasure having you join us tonight and I hope you already feel part of our little walking community.

This is exactly why I started the group — it was never just about the miles. It’s about conversations, connections and confidence… getting out of the house, meeting new people and hopefully heading home feeling a little brighter than when you arrived. ❤️

Thank you to every single lady who joined us tonight and continues to make this group the friendly, welcoming place it is.

Tuesday 1st September… the schools are heading back, the evenings are getting a little darker and there’s definitely a change in the air.

But one thing isn’t changing — we’re still walking! 👟

Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, come rain or shine. Because it’s never really just about the weather or the miles… it’s about the conversations, connections, laughter and simply getting out together.

So dig out the light jackets, maybe prepare for the odd raindrop 😂 and let’s keep walking our way through the seasons together.

🌿 REFLECTIVE SUNDAY 🌿

As we get older, one thing becomes increasingly important — protecting our peace.

Sometimes we accept the way people speak to us because “that’s just how they are” or “they’re family.” But being part of our lives doesn’t give anyone permission to continually make us feel small.

Boundaries can be changed at any age.

You can love someone and still say, “I’m not willing to be treated this way anymore.” That isn’t unkind — it’s self-respect.

And perhaps that’s a little of what our walking group is about too. Not just walking, but surrounding ourselves with women who encourage, support and lift one another.

Connection • Conversations • Confidence

So this Sunday, a little reminder:

💛 Surround yourself with people who make you feel lighter, not smaller.

☀️ Another lovely Saturday walk! 🚶‍♀️💕

Thank you to all the lovely ladies who joined me this morning. We had beautiful weather, plenty of chat and laughter, and even managed to sit outside at The Orangery for coffee and snacks afterwards. The perfect Saturday morning! ☕️🥰

A great start to the bank holiday weekend — enjoy it, everyone! 🎉

Whickham was looking particularly lovely today too, so a big shout-out to the volunteers at Planting Up Whickham and Tidy Up Whickham.

🌸👏 They’ve been working overtime to tidy the flower beds and the green around the library, as well as picking up rubbish — which really shouldn’t be part of their volunteering job!

Please take some pride in our village and pick up your rubbish.

And one little observation from our walk… hats off to the dog owners who responsibly use poo bags. 👏🐾 But why, after doing the hard part, do some people then HANG THE BAG FROM A TREE?! 😂🌳💩

As far as I’m aware, there’s no Whickham poo-bag fairy doing evening collections! 🧚‍♀️😂 Please use the bins.

A lovely walk, lovely company, and it was wonderful to see our village looking so well cared for. 💕

Around 3 miles at a relaxed pace — no one left behind!

Whatever sort of week you’ve had, come as you are… we’ll provide the walking, talking, laughs and encouragement. 😂❤️

And of course, the all-important cuppa afterwards ☕️

Cheaper than therapy… and you get your steps in! 🤣

WOW… what an amazing turnout tonight! ❤️🥾

So lovely to see the photos and hear that you all had such a great walk — sorry I couldn’t be there tonight! A huge welcome too to our lovely new ladies. 🥰 I hope you felt right at home.

And I’ve noticed a few cheeky comments lately about us meeting at The Fellsider and perhaps needing to rename ourselves the “Pub Walking Group” 😂🍻

Just to clear that one up… definitely not! 🤣

The Fellsider is simply our meeting point and somewhere to socialise afterwards. Some ladies enjoy a drink, some have coffee or a soft drink, and some of us — including me — don’t drink alcohol at all.

This group has always been about walking, friendship, connection, laughter and wellbeing. ❤️ What’s in your glass afterwards is entirely your own business!

So we’ll stick with Whickham Ladies Walking Group thanks… although judging by the laughter in those photos, I can understand the confusion! 😂🥾❤️

Come for the walk… stay for the friendship.
