Sunday Assembly Weston‑super‑Mare exists because people need spaces to breathe, connect, and feel part of something kind.

We’ve launched a fundraising page to help keep our gatherings running and accessible to everyone.

If Sunday Assembly has ever lifted your spirits — or if you simply believe in community spaces that welcome all — we’d be grateful for your support.

What a brilliant Sunday Assembly we had this month!

Huge thanks to everyone who came along — the conversations, the music, the laughter, and the sense of connection were exactly what makes this community so special. It’s always amazing to see people of all ages coming together to pause, reflect, and share a joyful Sunday morning.

Our next gathering is on Sunday 12 July at 11am, right here at Omnistudio Weston.

No theme or speaker yet — but as always, expect uplifting music, a thoughtful reading, friendly faces, and plenty of tea, coffee, and cake. Kids are absolutely welcome.

If you’ve been meaning to come along, this is your sign.

Hope to see you there 💛

We’ll also have music led by Jenny and reflection led by Tilly.

Six days to go.

Next Sunday we’ll be gathering once again for Sunday Assembly Weston-super-Mare — an hour of music, reflection, interesting ideas, and good company.

This month we’re also trying something a little different, meeting at the beautiful studio.

Our guest speaker will be Mario Ferrari, well known to many in Weston through his years with Fumble and his work as an artist and teacher. His talk, Looking Beyond What We See, will explore how art can help us pay closer attention to the world around us — and how seeing is about much more than simply looking.

Whether you’ve been before or are thinking about coming for the first time, you’d be very welcome.

We’re delighted to announce that our speaker for the next Sunday Assembly Weston-super-Mare will be Mario Ferrari.

Many people in Weston will know Mario from his years with the rock and roll band Fumble, but alongside music he has spent much of his life teaching art and helping people discover their creative side.

Mario runs popular art workshops, including Drawing for the Terrified, helping people who think they “can’t draw” to see the world in a different way.

His talk, Looking Beyond What We See, will explore how art can teach us to look more carefully, think more deeply, and notice things that might otherwise pass us by. Through drawing, observation, and mindful attention, Mario will ask whether looking and seeing are really the same thing.

It promises to be a fascinating and thought-provoking morning.

Every time we meet at Sunday Assembly Weston-super-Mare, we take time to think about all the people locally, nationally and globally who are having a tough time and need support. But we'll also make sure to pause and think about all the good things that are going on in the world and celebrate success, happiness and people doing the right thing.

At our last meeting, Jenny shared a story that made everyone smile: a tow truck driver in Canada who had rescued a moose that had become trapped in ice. He took it home and warmed it up with blankets. By morning it was well enough to get in its way.

Amongst all the struggles and hardships we see on the news, there are always stories that show people at their best - and we think it's important to recognise those moments.
