AFTER pics 📸.... Phew the weather was kind! Amazing day.... big thanks to a very willing and huge team of helpers.
(And.... we finally made use of a panel from one of Cameron Balloons hot air balloons! Thanks to Community Scrapstore North Somerset for the opportunity to repurpose this and create a sheltered space for volunteers.)

30 homegrown trees 🌳🌳 will be available at the Plant Swap at The Old Town Quarry this Saturday 13th June 10-1pm.
Donations welcome to support growing projects across WsM, including the community tree nursery 🌳🌳🌳

Breaking pallets.... for..... upgrading the shed walls! Working on the compost bays and admiring the wild flowers, and tending to the trees. Big thanks for all the help today Johnny Boxshall JA Fletcher and Steve P.

Went down to check on the mural today. Given all the rain after we had painted (but we did a quick late night varnish ) it's still adorning the container! Phew!

The storm clouds gathered ....and then swiftly moved on leaving us to paint in the sunshine 🌞. A fabulous bunch of people including some artists from Weston Artspace and friends from This Mortal Life gathered to paint, share food and celebrate Beltain around the Hawthorn trees & an epic fire 🔥. Huge thanks to Esther for being the driving force behind this seasonal gathering. We loved being able to host it, though putting up the shelter was definitely the most exhausting part!🙃
The nature theme of the paint party was embraced with great enthusiasm. Mostly made possible with paint from our local project and a kind donation of primer paint.
When we come together and share our time, our talents and food it truly does build and nurture community.

🌿 Local folks, this one’s for you 🌿

This Sunday (4–6pm), the Tree Nursery is opening its gates for a relaxed drop-in afternoon, a chance to come by, say hello, and see what’s growing here 🌱

Emily will be on site to chat about the vision for the nursery, how you can get involved, and how this space is slowly becoming a community hub for connection, care, and shared projects.

We’ll also be starting work on a floral mural on the shipping container, so if you fancy picking up a paintbrush and adding your touch, you’re very welcome. No experience needed, just come as you are.

✨ Pop in for 10 minutes or stay a while
✨ Have a wander, ask questions, get a feel for the space
✨ Meet neighbours and connect

This is a gentle, open invitation to come and see what’s happening here, and to be part of it, in whatever way feels right.

Stirling work from 3 amazing helpers JA Fletcher Johnny Boxshall and Steve (&me) today. The hedging trees are in, the Dogwood has had a haircut and the compost area has had an extension and glow-up.... well as much as a compost bay can !
Cardboard down for w**d suppression where the polytunnel will be sited soon.
If you have any experience of putting up polytunnels please give us a shout as we need help!
