A HUGE THANK YOU AND CHRISTMAS WISHES FROM THE ROTARY SANTA SLEIGH TEAM! 🎅✨

​We are absolutely over the moon to announce that this year, thanks to your incredible generosity, our collection closed at over £3,700 for local charities and causes!

​A special thank you goes to Tom and Phil Whiting - proper local heroes who help make this possible with the kind donation of the Sleigh vehicle. We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the volunteers and groups like the Rowhedge Heritage Trust who supported the Sleigh on its journey through Rowhedge.

​From the streets of West Mersea and East Mersea to Rowhedge and Peldon, the warm welcome you gave Santa was truly special. This ambitious project only works because of our amazing community and the volunteers.

MERSEA, PELDON, ROWHEDGE - YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING! 🌟

After five incredible nights, we have OFFICIALLY hit our fundraising goal! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Because of your overwhelming generosity, we have raised OVER £3,220 SO FAR! That means we have hit 101% of our initial target - beating the goal by a fantastic £20! We couldn’t have done it without the enthusiasm and support of the entire community.

# # # Community Achievement & Impact! 🤝

Thanks to your incredible support, we will be able to give AT LEAST £400 to each of our eight local causes! What an achievement for the community! We are thrilled, but we really want to extend that amount as much as we possibly can!

Santa has completed his final run for 2025! He sends a massive thank you to everyone who came out to wave and donate! He has now officially returned to the North Pole to prepare for the big night on Christmas Eve!

While the Sleigh visits are officially over, our endeavour to collect as much as possible for our eight critical local causes is NOT! Especially if you didn't get a chance to donate when the Sleigh went past, every extra pound raised will help us increase the final amount given to these vital groups.

# # # 📍 TONIGHT'S GRAND FINALE ROUTE: WEST ONTO EAST MERSEA

The Sleigh sets off at 5:30 PM for the last time this year! Tonight's route starts in West Mersea and heads to the East:
- We start at Brierley Paddocks
- Heading into Sanderling Approach and looping round Little Egret Way
- Then we head up Dawes Lane and out of West Mersea and will visit East Mersea!

# # # 🍻 Last Pit Stop: The Dog and Pheasant East Mersea!
Santa's sleigh ride will END at The Dog & Pheasant Pub in East Mersea! Don't miss the chance to meet him and wish him good luck for Christmas!

WOW! WHAT A ROAD TRIP! 🤩

The Mersea Rotary Santa Sleigh Night 4 journey to Rowhedge and Peldon was a HUGE success! We were absolutely overwhelmed by the welcome and generosity we received from everyone along the route.

Thanks to the wonderful community spirit and your donations, we have now raised OVER £2,900 SO FAR! That means we have reached 90% of our initial target!

Tonight, Thursday, December 11th, Santa and the Rotary team are going on a special road trip to visit our fantastic friends in Rowhedge and Peldon!

We’re heading out to raise essential funds for our eight critical local charities, and we need your support!

# # # 📍 TONIGHT'S ROUTE (Starting 5:30 PM):

The Sleigh starts at 5:30 PM in Rowhedge, covering:
- Rectory Road
- Head Street
- The High Street (passing The Anchor and Ye Olde Albion)
- Stephen Cranfield Close
- Woods Way
- Rowhedge Wharf development

We will then be taking a short road trip to Peldon, looping the village by heading along Mersea Road, St Ives Road, Church Road, and Lower Road.

The Sleigh will be taking a pitstop at The Peldon Plough on Lower Road! Come down, say hello, and bring the family to wave Santa off on the final leg of the evening!

NIGHT 3: WEST MERSEA, HERE WE COME! 🖍️

Following two fantastic nights where we've already raised an incredible cumulative total of OVER £1,780 for local causes, Santa and the elves are back for Night 3! Join us TONIGHT, Wednesday, December 10th, starting at 5:30 PM!

The attached video showcases some of the fantastic responses to our colouring competition—we've even 'brought to life' some of their brilliant designs on our sleigh! Supporting our local young people is what this is all about.

Your incredible generosity is directly funding crucial work right here on the Island. Tonight, we are especially focused on supporting the future of our community by backing projects at Mersea Island School and youth development initiatives like Camp Jojo, ensuring young people in our community have the resources and support they need to thrive.

We rely on your cheer and support to keep these vital services running!

📍 TONIGHT'S ROUTE (Starting 5:30 PM):
* We begin at Sheares Crescent and we'll cover Prince Albert Road, High Street, Mersea Ave, parts of St Peter's and Victory Road, Rosebank Road, Firs Road, Barfield Road and ending by Lower Kingsland Road.
