Mersea Lights Up Mersea Lights up is ran by volunteers every year to celebrate the festive season and to bring the whole community together.

There will be lots of different stalls and activities for all ages. We look forward to seeing everyone on this beautiful island.

I’ve had a drive around the island and have seen lots of houses and businesses looking lovely and bright🎄
We have decided to extend the judging day to give people more time to decorate and get their entries in.🙌
New judging day is 21st December!

Only 2 days to go to MERSEA LIGHTS UP SATURDAY 6th DECEMBER
We have exciting news about live entertainment at the MICA
On our inside and outside stages we have 4 local acts that are very popular on mersea island….

After the phenomenal sell out performances of “NOW THAT'S WHAT | CALL DANCE 2025” show IDA start the entertainment off at 12pm…
Island Dance Academy unites children across Mersea, helping them grow in confidence, develop teamwork skills, and build lifelong healthy habits-far beyond just dancing.

At 1pm we have OUT OF TUNERS
The choir meets every Thursday 7pm till 9.15pm £2.50 anyone welcome it’s great fun music from 40s through to todays music it’s brilliant fun and the best part is no one has to be able to sing a tune just join in.

SIMPLY STRUMMERS are performing at 2pm
This is the most fun you can have with 4 strings! Meeting on a Monday and Wednesday evening we have two groups who have learnt to play from scratch! The ukulele is a wonderful instrument full of joy to play and the ukulele community is one of rich and generous personalities. A real musical family! Come and join us. All levels welcome and a brand new beginners course is on the cards for the new year. Contact Victoria 07379 83 63 81 for more information.

Get ready for a fun family day out at Mersea lights up… the funfair is coming to town(island)🎠🎢🎡
On Saturday 6th December there will be a funfair in the library carpark all day from 10am - 6pm
The only bad news is there is will be no car parking in the library carpark SORRY.. but there’s a funfair with rides for all ages 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 so now everyone can can experience the thrills and delights of the Mersea lights up funfair….
it’s going to be a great day and we will look forward to seeing you all there.🎄🎅🏻🤹‍♂️🎠
