🎉 Help Us Expand Our Unit! 🎉

We are raising funds to help expand our unit and create more classroom space, giving our members a better environment to learn, grow, and take part in activities.

Our first fundraising event is a Race Night on 19th June, and we’d love your support!

We were lucky enough tonight to have a visit from Mal from Merseyside Blood Bikes who told us about the volunteering work he does in delivering vital items to hospitals and hospices within our area. However from the pictures I’m sure you will see his bike was the star of the show!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate PO (SCC) Abbie Sanders on passing her Master Mariner Unlimited qualification 👏⚓

This is the highest level of professional maritime certification, allowing the holder to take command of any vessel, anywhere in the world, a truly outstanding achievement that reflects years of dedication and hard work.

Abbie’s journey began with Sea Cadets in 2008, where she joined as a junior cadet and progressed to Leading Cadet over eight years. In 2011, TS Stork became her home, sparking her passion for a career at sea.

With the support and encouragement of staff, she achieved her RYA Dinghy Instructor qualification, worked abroad at just 17, and gained the confidence to pursue a career in the Merchant Navy.

In 2016, Abbie began her Deck Officer Cadetship at Warsash Maritime Academy, sponsored by Trinity House. Since then, her career has taken her around the globe, working on a variety of vessels and visiting over 50 countries.

Abbie credits Hoylake & West Kirby Sea Cadets with putting her on the career path she is on today, a powerful reminder of the organisation’s impact on young people and how each and every volunteer can shape a life.

Now, alongside her professional success, Abbie continues to volunteer, inspiring the next generation of cadets to aim high and achieve their goals, just like she has.

Congratulations, Abbie, we’re incredibly proud of you! Your journey to the Captain’s chair is complete. 🌍⚓🫡
