💡 Did you know that 70% of young people in the UK don’t receive early mental health support when they need it?

This Mental Health Awareness Week, YBF, alongside other Young People’s Foundations, is highlighting the importance of turning awareness into action.

We’re joining the call to take action - for yourself, for someone else, and for all of us - because lasting change happens when communities come together.

We’re delighted to introduce our new trustees! 🎉

Tianae Gould is a senior leader in children and young people’s services with extensive experience across the voluntary, education, and statutory sectors. She leads borough-wide provision supporting young carers and vulnerable children, working closely with schools, local authorities, health services, and community organisations. Her expertise spans safeguarding, wellbeing, SEND, and mental health, with a strong focus on building integrated, multi-agency approaches that improve outcomes for young people.

Abi Ajibola joins us with a strong background as an IT professional and Associate Director in the biopharmaceutical sector. Alongside her career, she is committed to community and youth development, serving as a youth pastor and leader, as well as a school governor. She is also a certified leadership facilitator, delivering training that empowers professionals to build confidence, and develop effective leadership skills.

Temi Sobayo is a Business and Management student at The University of Reading. She has previously contributed to YBF through the Flourishing Futures programme as a Youth Employment Ambassador, addressing barriers to employment and creating opportunities for young people.

We are excited to have them join our board of trustees! 💚

We’re incredibly grateful to South East Interiors (SEI) for their generous fundraising support! It means a great deal to have local businesses backing our work and helping us support the community. We spent the evening getting to know the team and exploring partnerships over some delicious food.

Support like this shows the power of people coming together locally - building stronger connections, creating more opportunities, and making a real difference to the lives of young people. We truly appreciate it! 💚

Give to Gain! 🤲

This International Women’s Day (8 March), the theme ‘Give To Gain’ highlights how sharing knowledge, support and opportunities helps create progress for everyone.

Speaking at a recent IWD event with our CEO Maxine emphasised the importance of sharing connections. By opening up our networks and connecting others to opportunities, we can help create pathways for more women to grow and lead.

It’s a powerful reminder that when we share our time, support and opportunities, we strengthen our communities and help unlock potential!
