Our vision is the see the dawn of the day when every single deaf and blind child can become an integral and important part of Sri Lankan society. “Even the longest journey begins with one step” – old Chinese proverb -

Lord Colin Low of Dalston, a distinguished member of the House of Lords and the Chief Patron of Deaf and Blind Aid Lanka (DABAL), addressed guests at the House of Commons Evening Tea Party. The event was attended by, community leaders, and supporters of DABAL.

Adding to the emotional atmosphere, visually impaired children played the drum while singing a beautiful song in front of the visitors from Deaf and Blind Aid Lanka charity organization. This heartfelt performance was a testament to their resilience and talent. Despite the schools being closed during this time, a few students were specially invited to attend this occasion, making it a memorable and touching event for everyone involved.

During the Covid period, Deaf and Blind Aid Lanka trustees made a significant visit to Kurunegala, Sandagala, and Uhumeeya school to provide essential funding and support. This visit was crucial in continuing their mission to aid the deaf and blind communities despite the global pandemic's challenges.

Madawa Basnayake, addressed the gathering and delivered a heartfelt thanksgiving speech. He expressed deep gratitude to the attendees from the UK, who had contributed significantly to the cause. Madawa highlighted the importance of unity and support in such challenging times, praising the collective efforts that made the funding possible. His words were not only a gesture of thanks but also an inspiration to continue working together for a brighter future for the students and communities they serve.
