Another year of warm weather for the 40 mile K2B & 21 mile C2B, and our teams were well supported by Aqua Pura, a local bottled water company based in the Eden Valley.
Their generous donation of individual water bottles meant that every walker was amply hydrated at each of our support stops — with an extra bottle waiting for them at the finish line too!

Anyone who has completed the 40 mile K2B or the 21 mile C2B, will have passed our famous 'Toffee Vodka support stop' at the highest point on Kirkby Moor. From leaving Lowick, our focus turns to the 'Toffee Vodka trees', a group of trees on the distant horizon, indicating the spot where we'll be raising a tot to Alice in the stars.
Generously sponsored, for the third consecutive year by the wonderful Kin Toffee Vodka, and manned by the double act of Karin & Linda, this stop is a favourite with our walkers.

Lush supported Alice throughout her final years - from welcoming her to their factory in Poole, to giving her the chance to play shop assistant in their Whistler store!
When they heard Alice should recently have celebrated her 30th birthday, they kindly donated bath bombs and shower gels for our finisher bags, for all 72 of our K2B and C2B walkers!
Thank you, Lush, for your kindness, generosity and for always remembering our precious Alice (who would be a little miffed she missed out on a Lush party bag)!

💜 BE CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARE 💜
My annual February 8th awareness post and I’ll post it every year of my life if it can save just one innocent child 😢
Eighteen years ago, after ten months of being fobbed off by the NHS, we paid thousands on a credit card to be told that Alice had advanced cancer. She fought for five years, suffering horrific treatments and procedures with the most cheerful resilience imaginable. And then she died.
There's not a day passes without me wishing I'd have followed my instincts, ignored those around me, ignored the bloody GP and the hospital consultant, and paid privately sooner.
You know your child best, not a healthcare ‘professional’ ... it's not a popularity contest. If things aren't right, don't leave it. Don't allow anyone to sweep your concerns under the carpet - tell you not to worry and insist it’ll be fine, and force you to take your child to mental health support for their ‘made up illness’.
It doesn't really matter if I wasn't directly to blame. I was the only person in Alice’s life, with a gut instinct that it was cancer and I failed to fight harder when it mattered the most. And I have to live with that, not them.
To those with the authority to do anything, Alice was a number ... but she was my whole world.

Thirteen years without you, Alice … until the day I die, I’ll wish I’d ignored the so called ‘medical professionals’ and paid sooner to have a private diagnosis.
You know your child best. If they’re unwell, push those in a position to refer you … demand more. It’s not a popularity contest. Dead is dead💜

either 21 or 40 miles through the beautiful English Lakes to support a final family holiday for a terminally ill child, or to provide an escape for bereaved parents.

Wow, what an evening we’ve had at the K2B Awards at the Coro, Ulverston.
Having secured the First K2B Ladies home Trophy in May, our K2B Ladies team claimed the GSK cup for the K2B highest fundraising team.
The Pierce Armstrong Memorial Trophy for the individual highest fundraiser was awarded to Alice’s Mum, Vicky, but the absolute icing on the cake was winning The Alice Pyne Memorial Trophy for the C2B highest fundraising.
In addition, Alice’s Mum, Vicky, was presented with a china plate for completing the forty mile a whopping twenty times!
Charity Trustee, Ken, was thrilled to accept our award of £14,000 on behalf of the charity.
An enormous thank you to all who have supported us and here’s to 2026!

Huge shout out to Bespoke Brands who have stepped in and solved our continuing logo problem ... with their compliments. Originally developed from Alice's own sketch, the make up of the logo was no longer usable in today's digital world.
