🌡️ Waste collections starting earlier from tomorrow 🌅

Our waste collection crews will be starting from 5am from tomorrow (Friday 19 June) due to the hot weather.

✅ Please put your bins out the night before
✅ Please park considerately and leave enough room for collection vehicles to get through

These small actions help us keep collections running smoothly while crews work safely in the heat.

Thank you for your support - Let's get it sorted ⭐

Parking on Calcutta Rd lay-by opposite Favourite Chicken will be suspended from
21/6 10:00 till 22/6 15:00 for the installation of a New World Phonebox. (Don’t worry, we had to google it as well).

Unfortunately we’ve only heard about this due to the parking restrictions about to come into force but what we’ve managed to find out is:

-Located outside Favourite Chicken
-Open sided phonebox with built in defibrillator
-Free Phone Calls
-Being paid for/installed/maintained/Monitored by a private company not council
-Reverse side is electronic advertising

TEMPORARY BUS SERVICES IN TILBURY

Thursday 18 June (0900) to Monday 22 June (1700) 2026

Due to essential highway improvement works, the top end of Feenan Highway and St Chad’s Road (Tilbury) will be closed to all traffic from 0900 on Thursday 18th June until 1700 on Monday 22nd June 2026.

As a result, Ensignbus 73 and First Bus 200 will not be able to travel through Tilbury. Ensignbus school services 7A, 7B/C will also be affected.
Ensignbus 73 will be diverted between Cross Keys and Tilbury in both directions and will not serve Gateway Academy or Feenan Highway. All buses will start & finish at Tilbury Asda so will also not serve Montreal Road or Civic Square.
First Bus 200 will be diverted between Waterson Road and Tilbury Asda in both directions and will not serve Gateway Academy, St Chad’s Road, Calcutta Road or Dock Road.
During this time we will be providing a FREE regular clockwise circular Tilbury Shuttle bus service using mainly single deck buses, some of which will be red in colour. This will operate the following route, connecting with Service 73 and 200 at Tilbury Asda:

Tilbury Asda – Dock Road – Calcutta Road – Civic Square (Shops side) – Feenan Highway (up) – St Chad’s Road (down) – Calcutta Road – Dock Road – Tilbury Asda.
