The U16’s Aire Wharfe team took on Pontefract in their 2nd league game on Sunday. After a defeat to Castleford last week the girls were apprehensive but they worked together and came away with a win! 5-15 down at half time, they defended hard and kept the pressure on, after a couple of disallowed tries their persistence paid off and they scored in the last 5 minutes making it 15-15, the final conversion won them the game before the whistle blew at 17-15. The Ponty girls gave us a very competitive game demonstrating some fantastic rugby. Thanks for coming over 🙌🏻

Following our recent reel, here are a few pics of the man behind our exciting new partnership with Team Outliers, Chris Downham, who is delivering the Transition Programme to develop the next generation of Wharfedale players. 🏉
This expert-led initiative is already hard at work helping our young athletes refine their rugby skills, techniques, and athletic ability through a crucial stage of their growth. Building a robust pipeline of home-grown talent is fundamental to the long-term future of our club.

WHARFEDALE RUGBY CLUB x TEAM OUTLIERS 🏉
Investing in our future. Developing our own.

We’re delighted to announce a new partnership with Team Outliers, who will be delivering our Transition Programme to support the next generation of Wharfedale players.

The programme will help our young athletes develop their rugby skills, techniques and athletic ability, while supporting them through an important stage in their development.

With a team of experts in rugby and athletic development, Team Outliers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to help our players reach their potential and take the next step in their journey.

Wharfedale has a proud history of punching above its weight, and with our Mini & Junior section continuing to go from strength to strength, developing a strong pipeline of home-grown talent is fundamental to the long-term future of our club.

This partnership represents an important investment in that future.

Developing our players.
Building our pathway.
Future-proofing our club.

We’re excited to see what the next generation can achieve.

We’ve had a very busy weekend for the Mini & Junior section, with the Sedbergh Prep Cup on Friday night for the U13’s, followed by a taster day for the U9’s on Saturday. Existing minis players were invited as well as new recruits and anyone wanting to give rugby a go. 25 children took part, closely mentored by our team of coaches lead by our Youth Development Officer, Hedley Verity. It all took place before the 1stXV Preston fixture which everyone was invited to stay and watch, resulting in a 45-35 win for Dale. Thank you to everyone who made the day a success.💚🏉💪🏻
