🚩 “Cheap prices.” “Cash deals.” ‘Same-day collection.”

When you need rubbish gone quickly, a cheap, quick deal can be hard to resist. But rogue traders can use convincing online ads and tempting offers to seem just like legitimate businesses.

So, before paying someone to take your rubbish away, ask for their licence number, check it on the Environment Agency register and make sure they’ll give you a receipt.

Remember: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

A few simple checks can protect you and your community from fly-tipping.

As you can see from Social media Tamworth Town Centre will be the focus of protests for and against the far right, so please stay safe.

To anyone thinking of being violent, think again, the place is full of Police today, I've never seen so many vans and officers, I hope no one gets injured or hurt today as a result of the protests.

On a lighter note I was planning to start knocking doors today but will wait till next weekend, my health is improving, my leg is pretty good even with a blood clot, I can even run short distances and I've got Diabetes under control without insulin or metformin, CKD is stable so counting myself lucky.

As it's mine and the wife's anniversary my focus is on spending time with the wife today and at some point popping to see our grand children, we had a new arrival about two weeks ago, little Stirling :D

What should Tamworth town centre look and feel like in the future?

The draft Local Plan puts the town centre at the heart of Tamworth's future growth and regeneration.

The plan proposes:
🛍️ Making the town centre the primary focus for new retail, leisure and tourism development
🏗️ Continuing the regeneration of key areas including Gungate and Ankerside
🏠 Bringing new homes into the town centre as part of mixed-use regeneration
🍽️ Supporting food, drink, leisure, cultural and community uses
🌙 Strengthening the evening economy
🚶 Improving connections between different parts of the town centre

The aim is to create a vibrant, mixed-use town centre that can adapt to changing shopping and leisure habits.

What would you like to see from the future of Tamworth town centre?

The town centre strategy focuses regeneration on Gungate and Ankerside, with Ankerside proposed as a mixed-use regeneration opportunity including homes, retail, leisure, food and drink, employment and community uses.

Following months of engagement, the draft Local Plan has reached its latest consultation stage. It will guide how land is used and developed across Tamworth up to 2043 – and this is your chance to have your say on the future of the borough.

I've been advised that Britain First will be coming to Tamworth on Saturday the 12th of September, not sure who else has seen it and I do hope it comes to nothing.

I would imagine there will be a counter demonstration as discussion of the event is appearing on different social media platforms.

I'm advising my own family to give the town a miss that day to be on the safe side.

I do not condone the actions of this group or any counter actions that involve the use violence of any sort.
