Polesworth Donkey Sanctuary Welcome to Polesworth Donkey Sanctuary; we are a family-run organisation located in the beautiful countryside of Warwickshire.

We offer donkey, goat, and sheep experiences, along with parent and toddler mornings during term time, and arts and crafts days. We also offer an adopt an animal programme - check out our website, www.polesworthdonkeysanctuary.com, for more info! On-site we have a lovely donkey diner where you can grab a bite to eat after seeing our animals and cleaning up at one of our sanitisation stations, off-

road parking, a giant sandpit, bouncy castle, and toys for the little ones to play with while you grab a hot drink and cake. We also have lots of special events that happen throughout the year, so keep an eye out for these as they will be ticketed events. We are open to the public six days a week during the colder months, and daily when the weather is nicer. A visit to our sanctuary does not require pre-booking, but if you would like to purchase an experience, we do require you to book beforehand so that we have the right staff available for you. Come and visit the lovely donkeys and mules in our care at our sanctuary, along with all our other animals, including pigs and their piglets, sheep, goats, alpacas, and lots more. Our opening hours are as below:

Sunday: 10:00 - 16:00
Monday: Closed during colder months, 10:00 - 16:00 during the spring and summer
Tuesday: 10:00 - 16:00
Wednesday: 10:00 - 16:00
Thursday: 10:00 - 16:00
Friday: 10:00 - 16:00
Saturday: 10:00 - 16:00

📢 Important Notice from Polesworth Donkey Sanctuary 📢

Due to forecast temperatures of 36°C and above, we have made the decision to close the sanctuary on Wednesday and Thursday.

The welfare of our animals and the safety of our staff are our highest priorities. During this period of extreme heat, all of our animals will be kept indoors where possible and in shaded areas to ensure they remain safe, comfortable, and protected from the heat.

We appreciate that many of you enjoy visiting the sanctuary, but we hope you understand that this decision has been made with the wellbeing of both our animals and our team in mind.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Please stay safe, keep cool, and take care during the hot weather.

Donkeys may be known for their stoic nature, but their body language speaks volumes! 😌

A relaxed donkey will often have soft facial muscles, half-closed eyes, and a droopy bottom lip hanging loosely to one side. It's a sure sign they're feeling calm, content, and completely at ease. ❤️
