Just 1 hour of voting left for the local elections in Kingston.

If you’re still struggling to decide, here is a quick rundown of the parties who have spoken up about Seething Wells Filter Beds in their campaigns:

Conservatives: National priorities and "cleaner streets" through better basic public services. Councillors previously and currently supported SWFB.

Green Party: They specifically mention Seething Wells as a headline pledge, promising to restore the filter beds and open them up for the community to use and enjoy. Candidates current and previous involved and in attendance of SWAG meetings and pledged support.

Kingston Independent Residents Group (KIRG): Pledge a £2 million investment into local parks and outdoor spaces alongside tougher environmental enforcement. Long supporters of SWFB and attended many SWAG and other SWFB groups (not standing in St Marks & SW).

Labour: Commit to protecting and maintaining Kingston’s green spaces while opposing "unsuitable" development across the borough. Previous candidates been supporters and in attendance and involved in SWAG previously.

Liberal Democrats: Pledge to protect and improve all green spaces and establish a new management mechanism for the River Thames. Current party in power and involved for an extended number of years with a number of councillors showing support and in attendance of SWAG and other SWFB interested groups.

Hello to all our faithful Members and Followers.

We’ve found out today that workers on the Seething Wells site are “feeling harassed”due to the following

1) Photos being taken of workers and their equipment
2) Drones being flown over the site
3) New Grafitti on the pump house saying “Always Watching”

Please can we take this opportunity to remind all our members and followers that whilst our aim is to discourage development of the site in a way which would harm its biodiversity and historical significance, we do not condone any activity which might lead to the site workers feeling uncomfortable and we MOST CERTAINLY do not condone any trespassing or criminal damage.

With huge thanks for your continued support.

A wonderful event with a very old history! I wonder how many people know that prior to the latter part of the 19th Century, freshwater sardines were being fished at Seething in some numbers!! We love this event 😁🎣

Imagine if this wasn’t just a view from behind a fence, but a thriving community space. A place where our local heritage meets a sanctuary for wildlife. We have the chance to preserve this history and actually enjoy it together.

Who else wants to see this space for the community?

Yesterday approx 12:40pm, person in high-vis securing something ? in and around the inlet to Bed 5 - also note the blue lay-flat drainage pipe now running from the outlet shaft of Bed 7 across to the overflow in the corner of Bed 6.
I suggest that the owners are securing further drainage facilities to ensure that the beds will be remain dry at all times ? The 7x historic slow sand filters were the largest open water body in the Borough. The drained beds and degraded surrounding area with it’s associated and varied biodiversity, flora and fauna has gone forever,😡😡😡
