Volunteers Week is all about thanking people like Aaliyah, who offer their time and kindness to make an impact to the lives of carers πŸ’œ

Aaliyah is one of our counselling volunteers, helping carers to talk through their feelings and experiences, and being there for them in times of stress. Hear what volunteering means to her:

"I chose to volunteer as a counselling volunteer with Carers First because I understand how important it is for carers to feel supported, listened to, and not alone in what can often be a challenging role. Carers give so much of themselves to others, and I wanted to be a part of something that helps give back.

My experience of volunteering has been incredibly rewarding so far. One of the best things has been becoming part of such a supportive and understanding community. At Carers First, everyone is welcoming, compassionate, and genuinely committed to helping. It’s reassuring to be surrounded by people who truly understand the challenges carers can face and who are always willing to offer support."

Thank you, Aaliyah. We appreciate all that you do for carers! πŸ’œ

Volunteering is an extraordinary role, and we are so thankful to have such a strong team of volunteers willing to support carers in any way they can. Claire, one of our volunteers in Southend-on-Sea, takes us through a day in the life as a volunteer, although no two days ever look the same!

Because of people like you Claire, our community is a stronger and better place πŸ’œ Thank you to all of our volunteers!

This Volunteers' Week is all about celebrating and thanking our amazing volunteers who go above and beyond to help us to support carers! 🌠

So many of our volunteers are carers themselves, or have had experience being in a caring role, so they truly understand and are compassionate to each individual they support.

Our CIC at Carers First, Jenny, would like to say a big thank you this Volunteers' Week!

πŸ’œ Volunteering doesn’t just make a difference to carers, it can have a lasting, positive impact on the volunteers themselves.

Many volunteers tell us that through volunteering they have, "gained confidence and a sense of purpose", "learned new skills or rediscovered old ones", "built meaningful connections", and "improved their own wellbeing."

Volunteering is a chance to be part of something positive, supporting carers while growing personally along the way.

If you’d like to explore volunteering with us this Volunteers' Week, we’d love to hear from you. Our team is always happy to have a friendly conversation about what might suit you. Visit our website to find the volunteer role for you https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0vJ5mx0
