As part of National Volunteers' Week, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who helps make Stratford-upon-Avon Sea Cadets possible.

Whether you are a uniformed instructor, trustee, administrator, fundraiser, driver, helper, or behind-the-scenes supporter, you all play a vital role in providing local young people with opportunities they might otherwise never experience.

Every parade night, every weekend activity, every course, every event, and every achievement by a cadet is only possible because of the time, dedication, and care given by our volunteers.

You give your evenings, weekends, skills, experience, patience, and encouragement to help young people build confidence, develop life skills, make friendships, and realise their potential.

The impact you have often goes far beyond what you see on a weekly basis. The confidence gained, the challenges overcome, and the opportunities created can shape a young person's future for years to come.

On behalf of all our cadets, parents, and fellow volunteers, thank you for everything you do.

Stratford Sea Cadets is not a building, a boat, or a uniform. It is people.

And we are incredibly fortunate to have such a committed team supporting the young people of our town.

⚓ National Volunteers' Week – Could You Make a Difference? ⚓

At Stratford-upon-Avon Sea Cadets, our volunteers change lives every week.

By giving just a few hours of your time, you could help local young people build confidence, learn new skills, make friends, and discover opportunities they might otherwise never experience.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for enthusiastic people to join our team in a variety of roles:

No previous Sea Cadet experience is required for many roles – just enthusiasm, reliability, and a desire to help young people achieve their potential.

And with that, the Festival of Motoring 2026 is over.

Another awesome day surrounded by some awesome machines. Thank you to everyone that stopped by to say hello, especially those that offered their time as potential new volunteers, dropped some pennies in the pot or offered to donate equipment.

A few highlights from day 1 of Stratfords Festival of Motoring. Some stunning cars on display, of all varieties and flavours. Some hands on engineering for the Cadets too with some running repairs to the Ambulance crews wheelchair!

A proud evening at the unit as Deputy Mayor Samantha McNaught Barrow visited ahead of boating night to officially present LC Taylor with his Mayor’s Cadet badge.
As Samantha prepares to take over as Mayor this week, Taylor now steps into the role of Mayor’s Cadet and will support her throughout the year at civic events and engagements across the community.
An outstanding achievement, and a well-deserved recognition of his commitment, professionalism and attitude within the unit.
Taylor’s first official duty as Mayor’s Cadet takes place this Sunday — an exciting start to what promises to be a memorable year. Congratulations LC Taylor. 👏⚓

Day 1 at done and dusted, great to see everyone enjoying our kayaks and powerboat. We also got to catch up with who has been a great supporter of the unit during her time as .

Day 2 tomorrow, plenty of time to come on down to recreation ground to find out what our Cadets get up to, and how you can get involved as an adult instructor.
